**THE AMD DRIVERS THREAD**

Titanfall has had crossfire support for a while ikari. Which drivers are you using? One thing to consider with Titanfall is it's not a very demanding title and i believe the fps are capped (at 60fps?) so it's unlikely to put much strain on more than one gpu unless playing at high resolution.

I have Titanfall capped at 120fps but when in crossfire mode each GPU never gets over 50% use even when most of the time the game is running at 80-90FPS. Reading on Titanfall forums the consensus of opinion is it's not optimized and only working on one core (whatever is reported on monitoring software....)

290X

Titan fall, single gpu usage 100%

Titan fall, CrossFire gpu usage 50%

CrossFire simply splits the load, afaik SLi is the same.

Don't know whether TF does include native CrossFire/SLi support?

Matt, could AMD clarify?

Yup thats the exact same issue i posted about crossfire earlier, realy annoying at 4k. Put it in optimised 1x1 with shadows on low and it will work though.

I've tried the 1 x 1 but I get flashing triangles on the screen (though I haven't tried lowering the shadows....)

That was a possibility - although memtest has passed with no issues, and various benchmark/hardware tests seem ok otherwise. Temps don't seem an issue either. Happily play games for hours with 13.12s, and 14.4s as well - except I get the issue with MPC with those.

If there is a hardware issue it's a pretty specific one.

I would assume something isnt right with the hardware.
newer drivers might just make it explicit

As an update to this (and my later post) I carried out memory checks etc on the pc and everything tested fine.

Ran heaven benchmark on high settings using 13.12 drivers for a good 30 mins+ with no problems.

Played the new borderlands game for a good few hours no issues.

Tried 14.9s again - and when trying borderlands kept on getting complete lockups pretty quickly on loading/menu. Did this several times much to my annoyance when trying to join my usual team play game.

Reverted to 13.12s and played for many hours without issue. Installed 14.4s and played for a few hours last night so seem ok so far with those.

Not tried 14.9.1s yet though.

For info, my pc is a gigabyte Z77 board, 3770k, 2x 7970s in crossfire, running Windows 7 64 bit with 16GB mem installed. 1000W Seasonic PSU fitted so ok for power. :)

Using 3 x 24" Dell 1920x1200 monitors in eyefinity most of the time but also had the issues with 14.9 in normal multi monitor setup.

Does anyone know which version of the AMD drivers are included with the Win10 Preview?
Mine don't seem to show a Mantle version, but there is a row in which it could show it if it was there.

Can we update the driver on Win10 (using the Win8.1 driver for example) or is Win10 different enough to need its own driver?

14.9 think its just the display driver and not the full package.

Engine isnt good enough. One would expect 2014 multicore support, with crossfire/sli support to blast away at 120-200fps with a high end machine.
as long developers made games for current average hardware (and consol) that people have then why should I as a gamer buy better hardware?

Make the game thougher to run visually offer great enviroment like dragon age inq and if gameplay is great then people buy new hardware to play it.
BF4 however I want to sell my computer and throw the game into the toilet and drop my crap on it.

So Mantle isn't part of the driver? I hadn't really thought about it but just assumed it was.
I don't recall there being an option to install it seperately when using the installer either. So how does it get installed?

Not sure don't use Windows 10 yet. Maybe mantle don't support windows 10 yet.
It's not fully released yet so still plenty time.

I've played Battlefield 4 on Windows 10 using Mantle and can confirm it works fine. However i did not check to see what the driver version included with Windows 10 was as i disable auto updates. I installed 14.9.1 with no issues on Windows 10.

I don't play any Mantle games, so it wasn't a big issue, I was just curious.

On a slight tangent (does this have its own thread?) I installed 14.9.1 on Win10 and installed Raptr for the first time ever.

Is there a reason it will only let me use GVR in Software encoding mode (and thus disable anything except Low and Custom)? Is it because I have a 7950 and you need a 290 for it to work or something?

Also, how do you get it to optimise setting for games?
It told me to play the game once and change at least one setting. I played the game 3 times and changed just about every graphics setting in the game and it still kept telling me to play the game and change a setting. This means it doesn't allow me to optimise the settings.

Probably best to ask on the Raptr Gaming Evolved forum for technical support regarding that. They're very good and you will get an answer and help, usually within one day.

whats happening with crossfire amd has given up? there are no profiles for any recent games.

Hi HZXT30,

Which games are you referring to?

Hi HZXT30,

Which games are you referring to?

Ryse,
Shadow of Mordor,
Aliens isolation

and I suppose very soon to be Lords of the fallen, Assassins creed unity and far cry 4. I've been using xfire for years and have never witnessed such a delay in profiles. I'm not interested in forcing xfire with flickering.

Ryse has a bug which stops multi gpu from working for either vendor. We have a profile ready but are waiting on a fix from the developer before we can proceed.

Shadow Of Mordor has a working Crossfire profile in the new drivers, which are due very soon.

Alien Isolation has a working Crossfire profile already, however there is a minor error in picking up the correct exe in the 14.9 and 14.9.1 drivers which stop the profile from working correctly. This will be fixed in the new drivers, don't worry.

As a temporary solution and to use the Alien Isolation profile in the 14.9/14.9.1 drivers please do the following.

1. Add the Alien Isolation exe to CCC - AI.EXE
2. Select it by clicking on it, go down to AMD CrossFireX mode
3. Search for Alien Isolation. Apply the profile and click save.
4. Play and enjoy excellent Crossfire scaling

Thank you any idea about xfire support for games coming out in the next few weeks? especially lords of the fallen which I already have preordered.
