**THE AMD DRIVERS THREAD**

It's a latency issue i believe and either power saving related where it clocks your cpu down dynamically, or just bad drivers. Looks for programs like LatencyMon or DPClatency to see this in action.

Does anyone else have the issue with 14.9.2 & 14.9 where it is not displaying xfire options in CCC. Currently using x2 7950.

I've been starting to get regular BSODs whilst playing Hearthstone & BBC iPlayer (video or audio) in chrome at the same time. I've been doing this regularly for a while but the issue has literally appeared a few days ago since installing the latest AMD drivers (could also be a flash update though).

What is the most stable version of the AMD drivers people are using right now, and do I need to do anything different to uninstall?

I've been getting this as well but with BF4 and Youtube, I rebuilt my PC over the weekend and after installing Windows again, installing 14.4 drivers and re-overclocking my card everything looks good.

Note I also use Google Chrome Canary now so it may be that fixed it, give it a go and see what happens.

Still no manual fan control (at least on the 290X Lightning), nor fan speed % monitoring.

Mine is working for the first time ever. Though iv never needed it, am happy with auto anyway. But the first time iv had the main fans fire up to 100%. These Drivers have also fixed the screen resolution, everything was scaled larger and always had to reboot twice to get things right on the desktop for the last few drivers. Only thing is now the MB posts an error D4 PCI resource Allocation Error. Out of resources. However everything works fine so far

How do you get Mantle to work in Beyond Earth

I am definitely using the right card - 290X

I am using 14.9.2 drivers

All I am getting when I try and use Mantle is it does not work on some older cards and drivers.

I've just uninstalled the 14.9.1 drivers and installed the new 14.9.2 drivers following AMD uninstall/installation instructions. Fired up Shadow or Mordor, flickering is gone but there is no increase in CrossfireX FPS, it's 40fps average at Ultra settings. I'm running dual 7990 cards.

In the benchmark the rain and flies around the nests are not moving also.

Regular Crossfire is fine @78fps average on Ultra settings. I take it quad gpus are not supported?

Did you remember to delete your Shadows of Mordor profile so it now uses the default one?

As an update to this (and my later post) I carried out memory checks etc on the pc and everything tested fine.

Ran heaven benchmark on high settings using 13.12 drivers for a good 30 mins+ with no problems.

Played the new borderlands game for a good few hours no issues.

Tried 14.9s again - and when trying borderlands kept on getting complete lockups pretty quickly on loading/menu. Did this several times much to my annoyance when trying to join my usual team play game.

Reverted to 13.12s and played for many hours without issue. Installed 14.4s and played for a few hours last night so seem ok so far with those.

Not tried 14.9.1s yet though.

For info, my pc is a gigabyte Z77 board, 3770k, 2x 7970s in crossfire, running Windows 7 64 bit with 16GB mem installed. 1000W Seasonic PSU fitted so ok for power. :)

Using 3 x 24" Dell 1920x1200 monitors in eyefinity most of the time but also had the issues with 14.9 in normal multi monitor setup.

Further update to this - total uninstall of drivers (even back to windows using VGA driver), then installing 14.9.2 beta results in the same issue - total lockup when trying to load borderlands presequel, just goes to a black screen on loading.

One thing I did spot is that even though I have two HIS 7970 cards installed (one HIS original and a HIS IceQ X2 I added later) the newer card is being detected as an "R9 200 series" card. Changed this to 7970 (which probably uses the same driver files anyway?) and still no difference. :(

Back to 14.4s again and everything fine once more - and it's even showing the mismatched 7970/R9 200 series devices too.

Send me screenshots of the errors Kaap and provide as much detail as possible on how to recreate so i can raise this as a matter or urgency! Thanks.

Matt, is there any way of keeping my game profiles in CCC so that when I install new drivers I wont loose them? Or do I just need to keep re-doing them each time like I'm doing?

Good question Tony and one I'm not sure of the answer, so I'll get back to you.

Do you use a driver sweeper like DDU when you uninstall?

yes I do mate, usually uninstall the current drivers through CCC (you know when you run the new driver .exe it gives you the option to install/uninstall) and then I go in with DDU and clean everything to be sure. I didn't know if it saved the profiles in a folder somewhere and I could copy them from that folder before uninstalling and then copying back to that folder again once the new drivers had been installed.

Just uninstall normally without the sweeper next time, see if it keeps the profiles. Just tested myself and they remained.
