**THE AMD DRIVERS THREAD**

It always amuses me by the time a profile comes out for a game im playing iv long completed the game lol.
Also im disappointed to see the sim racing game you where on about is project cars which isn't available to the masses till next year and not Assetto Corsa.

I was not at liberty to name the racing sim specifically in advance, the hope is the profile will further improve performance, taking account of the 600MHz physics rate and the constantly evolving graphics effects. ;)

THIS!

ED: Though I'm not sure if the issue with onscreen apps causing massive fps loss in xfire is something AMD can sort out with a profile tbh. It may well be something that Kunos has to fix.
Either way, you still have to do stuff to get decent usage even without the apps, so there is something that AMD can do at least. Then there's the reflection settings that screw with xfire (and SLI) too...
Looks like a bit of a job.

Still getting issues with these 14.9.x drivers. They don't seem to uninstall or install properly. I have just tried 14.9.2 today - I start getting Overclock failed on boot up, which has been entirely stable until this series of drivers. Does not shut down cleanly, I have to power off by holding power button down. This is on Windows 8.1 x64, anyone else getting these issues?

Erm why is it still saying Catalyst 14.4 despite the fact all the other version numbers are correct?

I hope they fix this GPU getting stuck in lower power state quick... Ive been reporting this since 13.12 :(
Also would love it if they could look into ArcheAge improvments driver level. I know this game is poorly optimized client wise but wish could get some driver side optimisations!

i also still have the audio crackle related to vsync being on in games so disable it for everything possible. In things not possible i disable one card... Considering selling them off and getting a couple of 980's instead

any games when vsync is enabled (and yes tried every driver since they have been released and yes i have wiped the old drivers) will update when i switch motherboard to see if it was some bizarre issue

Having weird issues with these last few sets of drivers, CCC won't open at all. 14.9 broke all my Windows 8 'metro' apps and Civ:BE won't give me the proper gamut of display resolutions.

I've just uninstalled the 14.9.1 drivers and installed the new 14.9.2 drivers following AMD uninstall/installation instructions. Fired up Shadow or Mordor, flickering is gone but there is no increase in CrossfireX FPS, it's 40fps average at Ultra settings. I'm running dual 7990 cards.

In the benchmark the rain and flies around the nests are not moving also.

Regular Crossfire is fine @78fps average on Ultra settings. I take it quad gpus are not supported?

I've been starting to get regular BSODs whilst playing Hearthstone & BBC iPlayer (video or audio) in chrome at the same time. I've been doing this regularly for a while but the issue has literally appeared a few days ago since installing the latest AMD drivers (could also be a flash update though).

What is the most stable version of the AMD drivers people are using right now, and do I need to do anything different to uninstall?

Quick question since I read a little comment in the msi AB 4.0 thread that gave me pause. Do you use afterburner? Someone mentioned they were getting audio crackle when running it and I'm not at home to try closing it to see if it's related. I also get the dpc spikes and audio crackle/stutter with xfire 290s in any game with vsync enabled. I have just disabled the second card for most games that don't need it, but it's very frustrating.

Long shot here regarding audio crackling if your running a Gigabyte board.

I was recently plagued with this for months and finally solved it a couple of weeks ago after reading numerous forum posts. In the end it was caused by a motherboard "feature" which I wasn't even aware that was switched on on my Gigabyte ex58-ud5 board, Dynamic Energy Saver, the application was never installed but what I did was install it, turn on the dynamic energy saving, then turn it off again, rebooted, uninstalled the app and had no crackling ever since.

I suppose this might only work if your running a Gigabyte board though :/

No AB related (or any) vsync crackle here... Using realtek onboard (asus mobo).

I really am baffled as to why some get it and some don't. The last I really heard about this was when everyone was getting it on a driver a while back.

ED: ^ could be something to do with it. I'm pretty sure that 290's have regularly had certain issues with certain Gigabyte mobos from day one. Never confirmed, but it seemed to be a running theme that only a few picked up on.

I never use onboard sound, i use the sound from the GPU on the plasma TV or sound card when on the the monitors, never had any snap crackle and pop.
