**THE AMD DRIVERS THREAD**

I guess I will update my drivers to these and see if crossfire actually works properly in COD or if its like other past games where a profile comes out and I still see negative scaling and stuttering. From reading around lots of people are still getting Negative scaling and stuttering and crazy load times when crossfire is enabled. Also you say that COD still has negative scaling at certain resolutions....which resolutions?

@AMDMatt

Am I right in thinking there is still no pre-defined AMD profile for Crossfire in COD:AW in 14.11.1?

Should I stick to AFR friendly and frame pacing off?

I can confirm cod now works for me in crossfire with these new drivers. It's not great scaling but I'm getting no stuttering now too and can add supersampling to my 3440x1440 res and maintain a constant 60fps.

Place this file in your BF4.exe folder. It will give you a 60fps cap in Mantle.

Hi, I tried putting that config file in both BF4 and PvZ but that didn't help with the stuttering in the slightest. MSI Afterburner's framerate limit appears to be reducing frametimes as well as capping the framerate to 60fps and as a result, all the games running in DX is running silky smooth.

Is there an alternative 3rd party app that limits the framerate/frame time like Afterburner and works with Mantle because at the moment, running any games in Mantle results in jerky gameplay which is unplayable for me...

the 14.11.1 beta drivers seems to of broke ULPS feature. the second card stays on when idle

Using the registry fix works for me! Open regedit and search for "ULPS" set the value to the enable ULPS entry to 0 from 1.

Do this for every entry found some may be 0 already!

Restart PC, ULPS should be fine after that!

ULPS has been broken by 14.11.1 for me too. Been through all the entries with "ULPS" in them in the Registry, and all were already set to 1 to enable ULPS. I'll fill out a bug report form. :)

We should get a thread going documenting all the bugs OCUK members had a hand in fixing. I would be willing to bet it's quite a lot.

Also @AMDMatt, could my GPUs be having the performance drop issue when overclocked due to hitting the power limit? I have a feeling that may be why seeing as i overclocked them by a pretty large amount.

Cheers. So the problem is the second gpu is always on once the drivers are installed?

As long as you have 50% power tune set and temps are ok then i doubt it.

Aye - that's the puppy. Fan merrily whirring around on the second GPU where it normally shuts down at desktop, and Afterburner is showing a temperature, core and memory clock speeds where normally all show as 0 until a game is launched.

Not enough to warrant a driver roll back for me, just a little irritating. Still, guess I'll just have to spend more time in-game to cover it up until the next driver's released. :)

couple of quick questions - am buying assassins creed unity a little later (lol, i know, but i want to give it a go) & noticed the 14.11.1 Beta Driver (http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/AMDCatalyst14-11-1BetaWINReleaseNotes.aspx) which is meant to help some with performance?

1 - to those who have installed the 14.11.1 beta driver, is it worth it? i.e. does it help much with ac unity on a single card setup (using an r9 280 at the moment so not expecting very high settings)?

2 - re installation, is it ok to just install the beta driver on top of the current driver (i've done that before & haven't had problems) or should i uninstall the current driver first.

Thanks in advance ;)

Hi Guys, for anyone else suffering from the DPC related audio popping and stuttering with xfire and vsync, I've included the content from an email I just sent to Matt below

I think we cracked it in a thread over on the AMD forum (http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=475&threadid=177635&forumid=11). Disconnecting my secondary monitor has reduced my 16k DPC spikes to a highest DPC routine of 162us. According to the chap that mentioned this, the problem occurs in any situation that is multi monitor AND not eyefinity. EG a 4 monitor config with 3 monitors in eyefinity will still display the issue until the 4th monitor is disconnected, and non-eyefinity setups will require all but one monitor to be disconnected.

tl;dr disconnect all but your primary monitor, or any monitors that are not part of an eyefinity array as a workaround until the problem is resolved. Nice to finally know what the root cause is.

My GPU is R9 290DC2OC.

The brand of cable is bizlink.
The monitor is PB278Q.

If I turn off my monitor's power, the error message will appear.

Does anyone face the problem?

I am not sure whether it is driver or monitor or GPU's problem...

Very Thanks :(

Driver:have tested 14.11、14.9.2....
