I can't use vysnc. I'm a "pro gamer" and I hate the input lag :D

Perhaps you're just lest sensitive than I am to it.

TBH I dont notice no input lag and no change on or off. I think Input lag is blown over the top and its not just based on vsync but other factors like.
Display response time, type of keyboard and mouse etc

I bought my display based on the reviews it was very good for gaming with a response time of 2ms.

That's my option on this vsync input lag thing lol :D

TBH I dont notice no input lag and no change on or off. I think Input lag is blown over the top and its not just based on vsync but other factors like.
Display response time, type of keyboard and mouse etc

I bought my display based on the reviews it was very good for gaming with a response time of 2ms.

That's my option on this vsync input lag thing lol :D

V-sync is proven to add input lag though, also things like Anti Aliasing also add input lag it's just not as severe as v-sync.

We have a 1050p spare monitor and i have to admit its hard to notice any input lag at all with that and vsync enabled. I can definitely notice it with my 6ms 1440p screen. I use a fps limit to remove most of the lag though. Its still a bit more responsive with vsync off but not enough to affect my fps skills.

Yes I understand it proven, but you still have to factor in other things.

Say using vsync and a display with response time 8ms you notice input lag before someone who have vsync on and using a display with response time of 2ms for example.

It's this reason everyone is different I think. No one setup is the same :D

Exactly. Just because you don't notice it doesn't mean that those that do are blowing it out of proportion.

For someone like me it's horrible hence why I have a 120 Hz monitor for FPS gaming and a 2560x1440 for everything else. Anyway the point is every other game feels smooth enough without delving into Radeon Pro so FC3 should as well. It doesn't and adding vysnc isn't acceptable as a solution for me.

Not too bothered as I finished it with one GPU as a matter of necessity but won't be happy if Blood Dragon is similar.

Its not having a higher Hertz that reduce input lag. What is the response time of both your displays?

Yes thank you I'm quite aware of how it works. It's nothing to do with my monitors it's vsync. I have a BenQ XL2420T and a Dell U2713HM.

The point regarding the refresh rate was it allows me to run higher FPS without excessive screen tearing. 60 Hz in online FPS is not cool. Especially if you've got vsync on. Frame limiters can help but sometimes doesn't remove completely the tearing.

No issue with me and 60fps always up top on BF3, always have a higher kills to death on CSGO.

Anyway I ending this here because we just keep going on and on. My Point is its not just vsync that gives input lag.

lol well you are handicapping yourself somewhat by playing 60 Hz. Whether you know it or not is another matter. I don't think your k/d ratio in BF3/CSGO really has any bearing on the difference between 60 Hz and 120 Hz panels and the input lag introduced in by vsync but OK :D.

Nobody said it was just vsync which introduces input lag but it does introduce a large amount which isn't acceptable in my case.

Handicapping? lol I never once felt I need more than 60fps. I wouldn't upgraded to 120hz either unless they is a 46" display, for me size before HZ.
If I went with a 24" I would feel like I have downgraded :D

Doesn't matter how many hz you have when it comes to battlefield 3 Rusty. You can't polish a turd.

I also know you play on softcore servers you dirty man you.

My stats are nice considering how aggressively me and my mate play on foot :).

Hardcore is for people who can't aim and track. :D ;)

You need to decouple FPS and Hz in your mind. The improvements in a 120 Hz panel come from the monitor side as opposed to the FPS you're seeing. e.g. 60 FPS is "smoother" on a 120 Hz monitor than a 60 Hz monitor. Also 120 Hz is one of the things you need to experience to pass judgement on really. Some can't tell the difference. If you're one of those you may not be handicapped that much as you can adjust somewhat to the sluggishness of a 60 Hz screen. For me the difference is "wow" and I could never game at 60 Hz in a game like BF3 again.

It sounds like you play on a TV. Oh dear :D. I hope you turn the TV side post processing off!

I do use a LED/LCD HDTV yes and also use its PC input mode witch switches all the post processing crap off.
I have used a 120hz monitor in my mates and I dont think its worth dropping screen size for it tbh, yes the game felt more smooth but not really that much difference.
