**THE AMD DRIVERS THREAD**

Have they still not released a proper 'RC' (if you will) driver? I would have thought they might have been out of Beta by now.

usually they would have by now (last WHQL was april). But since earlier this year AMD stopped using 2 driver teams (one for beta one for WHQL) and merged them into a single team, as a result the entire driver focus has been on the frame pace betas.

I suspect now that the FP drivers are out AMD will return focus to getting FP+13.6+OGL wrapped up into a WHQL set.

Read a few different reviews now, I feel fully confident in going crossfire.

Only problem is do I wait for 9000 series in Sept/Oct... cost of the blocks and extra card would pay for a 9950... but blocks for that would take a while too... :(

Very much enjoying the new driver. That said it hasn't changed my gaming experience much as i didn't get much microstutter before but at least FCAT says its smooth now i suppose. Its good to see in some games that AMD have got so close to the 690 in smoothness terms for a first attempt. Gives hope that in the long term that gap can be closed even more. What Guru3d said is important and should be noted by all, particularly the users who haven't even tried the driver but are saying its not that good. Guru3d says that its now at a stage where its pretty much unnoticeable, the difference between the two, without FCAT its something you won't notice. ;)

Has anyone seen any comments about plans to support crossfire eyefinity for pacing? I know the single screen drivers only just came out so may be too soon, but just wondering if anyone had heard anything or if it has been put into the "too difficult to ever do" pile.

Eyefinity, DX9 and OpenGL are next on the list so will likely be in one of the following 13.8 betas drivers.
