Have you got ULPS off Stu?

No, ULPS was on. Will have a play with it tonight before I go back to 13.6.

My plan for having at least 3 hours testing the new drivers last night turned into 2.5 hours fixing eldest's PC and family laptop (he broke both trying to install the same thing, good effort!) and then only 30 minutes on my PC. Why does family, real life, work and sleep keep getting in the way of my cherished geek time?

I experienced a similar issue with it on. Although i usually disable it anyway after ive installed the driver. I use msi afterburner to disable it as the other methods don't always seem to work.

Matt - you're a star. Disabled ULPS and the issues with the FPS locking too low are gone. Very weird! I've played with ULPS before and it's never made a difference (even on 13.6) so it looks like the problem isn't 13.8, but 13.8+ULPS.

I have had to change my cooling setup, as previously I had the Windforce running the standard fan speeds and my Accelero set to 100% in CCC (obviously with ULPS it used to switch off completely when not needed). Why doesn't Afterburner allow you to set different profiles for different cards? Ah well, if I didn't have something to fix I'd only get bored and pull the PC apart to find something to tweak. :D

Good to hear Stu.

Are you 100% sure it was disabled correctly before?

As you say though it appears in beta 2 there is a specific issue which can be fixed by disabling it.

You can use different profiles for different cards if you want. What you need to do is go to settings and untick sync settings for similar cards. Then create a profile for card one, save it to slot 1, then apply. Then go into settings and select card 2 as in the picture below. Then create a clock profile and save it to slot 2, then apply.

I prefer to have them synced though, even if it means i have to give one card a bit more voltage than is needed. But i can understand why you might want to do it, particularly if one card runs hotter than the other.

Well Installed and modded last night.
Working fine but...
Allbenchmark still will crash driver for me at frame 63xx where lazor cuts the building. Always same frame.

But games work good so :)

Are there still no whql drivers since 13.4!? Why?

Because the next WHQL driver will come when the 13.8 beta drivers have been finalised. I don't bother with the WHQL's any more. I'd much rather use the beta's which have the latest fixes and performance optimizations in. If you want to stick to WHQL only then you'll be waiting around three months per driver, give or take.

Good to hear Stu.

Are you 100% sure it was disabled correctly before?

Definitely - my monitoring software shows differently when it's enabled/disabled (as some of them don't pick up the second GPU at all when ULPS is enabled, and I double checked each time by glancing under the desk and see if my fans are spinning on the GPU or not. :)

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I would like to set up two different fan profile curves, but it looks like you can only set one that applies to both cards. I'm happy running synced clocks, and don't touch voltages (reference card doesn't need them played with and my Windforce is locked, I think).

Cheers again for the help fella, much appreciated. Today the PC is getting the youngest child test while I'm at work - fingers crossed!
