Its defo working for me on BF3 I don't need to apply radeon pro tweaks to get smoothness now, it's out of the box.

i can't find where i read about trifire not being supported yet, and the major articles don't mention it so what i read was most likely wrong.

means i can get a third card right away :D

You're always wrong. ;)

Fancy buying my 7950 xfire setup? They easily reach the speeds you run your 7970's at. You could have four gpu's then and i can buy myself a 7990. :D

Stop your grinnin' and drop your linen!

Its 13.8 Beta 2 driver release!!

Not sure yet what this fixes. Is it Directx9? Or is it the Eyefinity fix? Stand by for confirmation or release notes.

EDIT

Driver installed, will now test some games.

I've noticed a bug with these 13.8's though. I get a system hang when im installing the drivers if i try to install the HDMI drivers. Must be a windows 8 thing as ive not seen any mention of it around the interwebs. Providing i don't install the HDMI drivers things work nicely. Sent an email to Thracks reporting it. I don't need or use HDMI drivers so luckily its not a problem for me.

Tomb raider improvements, Mmmm tomb raider was already super smooth to me lol
AMD rocking the show with theses drivers can't wait to test.

Little issue for me is I do use overdrive so looks like I will need to use something else will maybe just use trixx again.

Try FarCry 3 :D

On a serious note - they did say they would improve with each driver release.

Seems they are keeping to their word :)

You can't polish a turd. :D

They said farcry 3 fix is coming actually, but i can't see it ever being fixed. ;)

Just completed Tomb Raider but i can see myself playing through it again it was that good. I missed a few tombs and hidden treasures so its worth doing again i think. :o

Worth updating to beta 2 Matt? Notice any change in games smoothness?

Thanks

Erm i think so, could be a placebo though. Typical though, these new drivers would have to come out one day after i did all those benchmarks. :D

Maybe i should do them all again. :p

It's just these two options, holding me back from updating
CrossFire configurations (when used in combination with Overdrive) can result in the secondary GPU usage running at 99%
Enabling CrossFire can result in the PCI-e bus speed for the secondary GPU being reported as x1

I going back to Windows 8 tomorrow when new ssd gets here so will put beta2 on then maybe.

Well i don't have the pci-e issue according to gpu-z and i use afterburner not overdrive so no problem there. Probably best to try it and see how it goes. If you get problems just roll back.

The only problem i have is my pc hangs if i try to install the HDMI driver using express settings. Must be a Windows 8 thing.

Sadly, looks like 13.8 Beta 2 is a no-go for me. Some of the bugs with 13.8 Beta 1 have gone, so it's better, but still not usable on my set up.

I game on 3 screens (5760x1080) with a 4th screen running monitoring software/emails. When opening some games (DX10 + DX11 ones) the 4th screen sometimes works, sometimes it goes black - this has always been the case. When this happens, I simply Alt+Tab, re-select the game, and the 4th screen stays active. Using 13.8, if the screen stays lit on game startup, the game runs fine (between 80-120FPS in Just Cause 2 for example). However, as soon as I Alt+Tab in the game, the game drops to 30FPS and is horribly juddery, even in the menus. The only way to get the frames back is to close the game completely and re-open it.

Tested the Alt+Tab = messed up performance on Just Cause 2, Crysis 2, and COD4 - happened on each game, so it's not limited to one game or even one version of DX.

Reported the bug to AMD, but left the driver installed to do some more testing tonight as my youngest only plays on 1 screen (with the others running Skype, internet, and lord knows what else usually) so thought he'd be fine. He's phoned me this morning to tell me COD:MW3 is "really lagging" and complaining it's unusable. I simply told him I'd fix it tonight and to play some games that do work and don't bother me at the office. :D

Looks like it's a trip back to 13.6 for me tonight, and probably dealing with an annoyed brat.

Does anyone else have issues if Alt+tabbing during a game? Or is it just limited to my weird 3+1 & crossfire setup?
