Will these cards give us any clue as to the potential performance of PS5?

It’s post like these that make me wonder if it’s worth buying a Navi card or just waiting for PS5.Not entirely because
A) It's rumoured the Navi in PS5 is coming 2020
B) Games will be optimised for the hardware, so will appear better than PC counterparts
1070’s a good card. I can’t see it being a massive improvement if I’m honest.I'm hoping Navi had got some power. I need a decent upgrade from a 1070 from AMD which doesn't leave me with many options...
I’ll be very interested to see benches between Navi and vega 64. If it really isn’t much, I might be tempted to get a 64 for a nice knockdown price. I’ll want the test to be done on a zen 2, 570 platform though.Oh dear 9.75 TFlops, that puts it between a Vega 56 and a Vega 64.
AMD put it up against the 2070, I think that might be absolute best case.
We shall see soon.
Ah!, the old “shall I buy now or wait to see what’s round the corner” dilemmaTflops is not a great indication of game performance, not always, so i wouldnt read too much into the raw throughput of the card right now.
Plus this is still the 5700 isnt it? there should be a 5800 and ... maybe a 5900 as well if AMD stick to there old naming scheme.. which knowing them... cough.. they wont lol.

Yep, PS5 is heavily rumoured to be 14 teraflops, but I still can’t see it outperforming the 5700.Teraflops aren’t really great for comparing between different architectures...
Wait and see, not long now.

No.
Radeon RX 5700 XT: FP32 9.75 TFLOPs
Vega 56: FP32 10.75 TFLOPs

Vega 64: FP32 12.57 TFLOPs

Navi Radeon RX 5700 XT is actually slower than Vega 56 with 1 TFLOP less, if it was been released 2 years ago with HBM2 on 14nm then it would been called Vega 40.
Radeon RX 5700 XT is DOA at $499.
Yup that is what I get for using AMD gpu wiki
AMD's own figures put Vega 56 at 10.5 TFlops here
and Vega 64 at 13.4 TFlops here
Now people are quite right that pure compute throughput isn't the only thing that gives gaming performance, for example the 2070 only does 7.4 TFlops and we know how that works out for gaming performance. so lets not right off Navi just yet.
They way it’s being promoted, it’d be very disappointing for it to be anything less than 2070 performance. That is very interesting, so potentially it could be faster than the 2070.
