*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

Yet they still released it at 599.

I doubt it's a loss leader at all and they will still generate a profit from it.
The base model is absolutely a loss leader or certainly has minimal profit. You only have to look at the upgrade costs.

Since when does 256GB of extra storage cost £200? :D

this thread has gone a bit bizarre.
Indeed it's gone way off topic

There still needs to be room in the product stack for the 9060 series products (and potentially lower end products / rebrands) so pricing can only go so low

Their current product stack has four cards below £500. Though it does feel a little cramped. If the 9070 XT is £450-£500 as rumours suggest, it may make sense for the 9060 to be £199. That then leaves a £250-£300 gap to slot in the 9060 XT (£279-£299) and 9070 (£349-£399).

We really just need our own version of the up & down graph that they use for PlayStation - but based entirely on the conversation in this thread.

Second tier GPU's.. I paid around £330 for my Sapphire 7950HD in 2012.. paid £350 for a Vega 56 in 2017.

If the 9070 is around £400 and the 9070XT is just below £500 then thats isnt too bad considering inflation etc.

Also paid £400 for the 5700XT Red Devil in 2019 though I sent that back as it had issues.

On the Nvidia side for reference, my current 3060Ti cost me £445 in 2023.

I honestly dont think the 9070XT should be over £500 for a mid tier GPU, even the 5070 shouldnt be over £500, with all the trickery they're using it should be well below that as not every game uses DLSS/FG etc.

Im a DayZ player that has none of this tech so why should I have to pay for something I wont ever use, until maybe DayZ 2 comes out in 4-5 years time.

I hope AMD don't take the bait and try compete with with Nvidia on MFG, AMD should 100% focus on delivering substantially more raster performance for the money vs Nvidia while bringing significantly improved RT + FSR4

How is it ridiculous?

PC gaming is not doing well and most people don't actually spend above this amount which is further supported with AMD rapidly declining market share.

All of those reports supports AMD sales have done even worse then before.

Even Nvidia consumer diy sales were on the down, why? Because of price.
maybe they need to hobble Nvidia a touch on amd cpus now they have the advantage or would people just flee to Intel

I agree. I'm worried though that they will be baited. I hope I'm wrong. It would actually make me very happy to be wrong :P

37 games currently have FSR 3.1 implemented (out of 298 with FSR 2 or 3):

I have never used FSR so don't care about that. For me, if its prices OK and performs well without using massive amounts of power, I might upgrade, although my current card (6900XT) is still more than enough for me.

Somewhere inbetween $300 & $1000?

$500 & $650 then.

If so they wont get a purchase from me.. will keep running the 3060Ti until it dies, hopefully by that time there will be a decent CPU with onboard graphics that will run DayZ and I'll never buy a dGPU again lol

If the 9070 XT offers 4080S performance at £450-£500 then the 9070 might be around £350-£400 and not too far behind on performance?
9070 = 499-549 USD/GBP inc Vat for 4080 Performance
9070 XT = 549-600 USD/GBP inc Vat for 4080 Super Performance.

Would be my estimation with both boards maxing at around 350 watts, it looks like the cards will be provide sub 80c GPU temps also.

The 4080 Launch price was around 1150 GBP inc. vat. so if the 9070 XT AIB cards settle down at around 650 inc GBP a couple of months after launch it will be a really good deal IMHO.

6900XT was a great card but lets not paper over the temps and power draw :D

Is the 9070XT = 4080S performance not just wishful thinking? Considering the supposed price, if that was the case then why are AMD not making a massive song and dance about it given how expensive the 4080S is by comparison? Seems highly backwards.

I mean, they have said almost nothing other than "we think it needs its own announcement event" so they might be getting the dancers and singers ready
