*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

I would have thought a 7800XTto be reduced to ~£300 by now.

Would be huge upgrade over my 480.

Why don't GPU's get discounted? All that happens is they sell out (or prices stay high) then replaced with an updated model

It’s a tight cartel sadly.

Produce just enough gpus to satiate demand but not have too many like during the pandemic left unsold after.

The ploy is you don’t have to drop prices ridiculously low if you don’t have any more stock to sell.

Market manipulation by AMD and Nvidia, they'd rather sell less at high margins, but also basically cos people pay it, if everyone thought to themselve I'm not paying a grand for a mid range card the prices would soon drop, well, AMD ones might, Nvidia seem to feel like they are doing pc gamers a favour these days, truth be told they would much rather use the wafers on ai chips.

....certainly if other AIBs are around $750.
They really need to be about there or there abouts, despite people wanting them to be cheaper still, because if AMD think non-flagship (or whatever the wording they used) graphics cards should cost more than a console then PC gaming is doomed.

This is a mainstream card it should be about 500-600 max.

Yeah I did order one then heard next gen are around the corner so didn't want to spend £400 on a card that's been out for a couple of years.
It was only out for about a year lol last year. I don’t think they’ll be available for less than £300 imo even when next gen do release. There really isn’t any stock of 6000 series left below that price point.

It's odd, isn't it? 7800 XT feels like a hard sell when the 7900 GRE can be bought for £75 extra and 7900 XT for £190 extra.

Maybe it's just down to when the next gen cards are due and how they are going to be priced? 9060 and 9060 XT could be months off, and the 9070 and 9070 XT could be £599 and £699 (or even £749), meaning there isn't much reason to reduce the 7800 XT etc. yet.

You talking dollars or GBP?

GBP base price AIB i know would be more.

Realistically I would want 599 to be the max price, with a good quality AIB like a Nitro X to be at the $750 price, if the entry price is 699 or above I can see a nitro X being around 850-900 at which point just get a 5080 entry model.
