It only looks to be few FPS compared to 5070ti , and neither are hitting 60fps native anyway

Next options are 5080 or 5090

Would have to use the dreaded AFMF2 aka frame gen in that situation.

It should be fine.

There is no way a 9070XT is going to draw the full amount from 3x 8 pin (450W) + 75W from the PCI-E slot.

What with GPU's being so moosive, a case like mine or your's does limit choices of GPU's somewhat.

The amount of times I'm seen a decent deal on a GPU only to pass on it because it exceeds 315mm is quite high and I sometimes think I should just bit the bullet and buy a new case and swap everything over. At least that way, the GPU length would never a limiting factor in a GPU purchase decision.

But then I just can't be bothered to spend the time to do so

For £600 or close to that, it is a belter. As @uscool said if you want better then its the 5080/90 for way more.

Every card does at 4k native, you need FSR/DLSS to get the ~60fps baseline and then go from there.

No, not even a 5090 can do 60fps at 1440p native with PT (in Cyberpunk 2077 anyway).

Just checked mine, with a CM module removed I could fit a GPU that 51cm long

Unlikely...a 4070Ti manages ~45 FPS and a 4090 manages ~68 FPS. I would expect a 9070XT would be around ~50FPS, maybe a touch more. I suppose it depends whether you consider that "close" or not.

Edit: those figures are RT only...PT takes a big hit. ~39FPS for a 4090 at 1440P.

Indeed, it pretty much comes down to what level of upscaling you're happy to use alongside it.

I just want to see both Nvidia and AMD perfect performance for plain old RT, without the massive hit in performance. I tend to run RT reflections and/or lighting. The latter being the most impactful IMO.

It's pretty typical in this market to hurry along to the next "cool" thing. Look at PhysX and TrueAudio just to name a few. PhysX is just a shadow of what it could have been and when was TrueAudio last used? no clue! It's why I'm not in a hurry to adopt the latest generation just for the shiny new "features and gadgets" like upscaling, RT etc etc. I want to see the adoption and implementations take place before I invest in it. It's also why raw performance/currency spent matters the most to me.
