*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

No I know, but it would be very odd for it to only be 7900xt level and not 7900xtx level at this stage.
I think it varies dependent on whether a game likes bandwidth, high amounts of VRAM, the architecture improvements etc. Some of the charts I've seen have it going from roughly 7900XT at worse, to moderately faster than the 7900XTX depending on the game (in raster), within the same chart.
In RT the early benches I've seen seem to put it winning across the board.

Kinda what I expected, because the core itself has been massively optimised, but the memory bandwidth is lower etc.

Again AMD said RT performance is +50%

OR, lets wait until actual reviews, instead of believing a 5070 is faster than a 4090

No AMD said relative performance across 30 games is 42% @4k there are two charts showing RT and Native non RT and 38% @1440p they showed bother performances.
Again, the reviews are live TOMMORROW not now. Stop believeing Digital Foundry

Where did digital foundry come into this?

You seem unnecessary upset by this conversation, maybe log off until tomorrow

Agreed my expectations are somewhere between the two cards maybe only 10% above the XT but definitely performing better if not then AMDs slides are very misleading, but in general AMD are not too far out with their figures.

I'm not convinced the 9070 is going to review too well tomorrow

If the 9070XT is like a 5070ti, but at a cheaper price point, then the 9070 is going to be pretty close to/slightly better than a 5070 at the same price point.

Oh dear someone believes DF is actually neutral in anything. Clue they are not

Stop drinking the koolaid.

GN has already said the performance will be, within 10% of a 5070Ti (at times), matching or better than a 7900XT ; and thats in the 5070 review. Unless his subtlety is too much for you.

Would be uncanny they got the accuracy so well when renaming their card!

Im going to add you to the block list because you are either high or drinking at 3pm on a Tuesday.

I have no idea why you are on about DF where the hell has that even come up in a conversation. When did they say they are neutral? I know nothing about them I don't think I've ever read anything they've ever done.

You talk about GNs subtlety I mean are you qualified to talk about that? You the person who said that I think DF is neutral when you're the only one who's mentioned them I've not mentioned them once other to ask you why your talking about them. How can you qualify subtle hints when your extracting my thoughts and feelings out of thin bloody air and applying them to me like it's Gospel. DF is crap and I don't read them or watch their videos (I assume they do videos)

You seem oddly upset about this whole thing, but im just going to block you and be done.

Sorry mods! I've blocked him but he tilted me there!

I was thinking on a 9070 because my room is 3x4m and anything above 250w makes it too hot to game for anything more than 30 mins,
but those efficiency charts seem way off, the 9070 is above the 4080 (320w) on the power consumption chart, very surprising!

soz not been keeping the past couple of days - once i knew i wassn't getting the upgrade i wanted for 450 i kinda lost interest. so what the latest, what we arguing about at the mo in here? :p

The usual!

People can't read slides and making things up.

General expectations are 9070 should perform better than the 5070 and the 9070xt should be around 5070ti for a lot lrss money.

Gibbo has said they have thousands of cards in stock so there will be good availability.

Reviews are tomorrow so we're kinda waiting with gritted teeth at the moment.

OCUK have soft announced the prices (divide the cost by 10) No MRSP cards starting around 630. Good AIB cards seem good value with the Nitro X being 699.

Overall we're waiting with a muted excitement hoping it plays out as expected.

I think that about it.

He was quoting someone else regarding DF, and his sarcasm or point being that they are major nvidia shills. :)

Oh I don't even care I just blocked him can't be bothered with it.

I did see Tom's Hardware give the 5070 a 4 star review so there are definitely biased sites.

I tend to just watch 3 or 4 YouTubers and look at the graphs I don't really care how they rate some just want numbers.

Either way gonna sit on my muted optimism for 2 days on the 9070xt ready to switch back to Team Red!

OCuk have adjusted their pricing for Asus's cards and so this is how it looks for OCuk's entire XT range until launch day on Thurs...

(anyone still a bit slow to the game, move the decimal point left one place!)

I chalk some of it up to actually higher performance, outputs more frames, makes CPU work harder
Its whole system power use

then again, 4080/super/5080 are the most efficient cards on market
