*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

That is terrible if that is the case. 4GB less VRAM than an RX7900XT,no chiplets and worse power draw?
Pretty sure it's just another case of AMD pushing the nuts of its latest release like they always do. Downclock the core by 10% and watch the power draw plummet for next to no performance loss has been the way to deal with this for the last 2-3 generations at least.

Without trawling the last 10 pages I've missed, still no UK price set or hinted at?

divide prices by roughly 10 seems to be the suggestion

But then I just can't be bothered to spend the time to do so :p
Same. Way too much effort, especially with my level of cable management OCD. And fundamentally, I like my case, so I'm not gonna swap it out for some uggo monstrosity just for the sake of GPU clearance.

Not sure if HU did an oopsie but their power consumption charts in the 5070 review show the 9070 and 9070XT
Whoops. Too late to get the Tipex out I guess? :p

Gamers Nexus are dropping big hints that the 9070XT will compare to the 7900XT in their 5070 review.
I'm not convinced the 9070 is going to review too well tomorrow
Same... Someone needs to provide a suitable train gif and update the chart...

I was thinking on a 9070 because my room is 3x4m and anything above 250w makes it too hot to game for anything more than 30 mins
Could you, like, crack open a window? Or is it a Harry Potter type situation?

I did see Tom's Hardware give the 5070 a 4 star review so there are definitely biased sites.
It's either bias, or a fear that publishing an overly negative review will get their site blacklisted for future reviews...

I'm hoping once the prices come out the non XT seems value otherwise I'll have to ditch the WiFi card...

Says it all about the tech industry these days, companies announce a 'from' price which allows retailers to dig the oar in.
I do think at least a portion of that is on the people setting the "from" price. Does seem like in a lot of cases they go for a headline grabbing price, but then leave very little margin for the people selling the things :(

OCUK seems to have set there prices, you just need to divide them by 10 to give the expected/possible price.
Seems a bit presumptions but for the sake of argument lets roll with it and say it's not just Gibbo trolling everyone, if the divide them by 10 to give the expected/possible price turns out to be correct that's going to be such a disappointment.

It's basically going to be the usual Nvidia -10% (that is if Nvidia ever manage to pull their finger out their backside and supply more than a dozen cards).

I wonder if AMD will be judging the effect of this gen's pricing based on MSRP or actual prices.

US$600 MSRP shows that AMD have learnt something from the Radeon 7000 series release, but no doubt they'll be looking at sales to judge the effect.

Cheapest price in the UK looks to be US$800, ~34% above MSRP. So if AMD look at UK sales to judge the effect of their pricing for the Radeon 9000 series, are they going to be assuming that the cards sell for US$600 in the UK and assuming the US$600 MSRP was a failure in terms of increasing sales in the UK? What's the pricing like in other countries?

but those efficiency charts seem way off, the 9070 is above the 4080 (320w) on the power consumption chart, very surprising!

I'd suggest waiting a bit to see the effects of undervolting a 9070XT. It's not uncommon for undervolting to result in a large decrease in power consumption for little or no decrease in performance. Sometimes even a large decrease in power consumption and an increase in performance. I've had that happen myself. Sometimes cards are shipped de facto overvolted by default in order to chase bigger numbers for a max clock speed and end up being throttled on power draw and/or temps as a result, so undervolting reduces the throttling and thus increases actual performance (even if the max clock speed is a bit lower). The most extreme example I can recall personally was a Radeon 7950, the first card I undervolted. IIRC the result of undervolting was ~20C lower temps and ~15% performance improvement.

How much do you think a Nitro 6900xt is worth after this release? Tempted for the upgrade but in fairness it’s still a powerhouse in raster. Probably like most would just be an upgrade for the sake of it :D

New nitro does that require an adapter im using an older Corsair 850 unit. Obv 6900xt is x2 8 pin.

a good 20% of that is VAt though the MSRP in dollars never includes sales tax

Huh? 800? The lowest on ocuk assuming the ÷10 for real price is about 665 usd. 630 - vat = 525 x 1.27 = 666

He actually said 9070, not the 9070XT which lines up with AMD's numbers of 9070 = 7900GRE + 20%

Thank you!!

Someone was calling me out earlier, and i'm watching the Video now and I was right, also if anyone wants to watch it someones left some time stamps in the comments on that video of all the times GN hinted at the AMD cards performance in most of them he's talking about and comparing the 9070 to the 7900xt.
