Well I would love some more information before Monday but it doesn't look like it will happen. I just want to know if it is a worthwhile upgrade over a 980ti and price. Being 10mins from OcUK I could easily pop down and collect, but I guess I'm in no rush. Would love to be back to a full AMD system, but that looks unlikely if rumours are true.

Haha, don't try and flip this onto them, AMD are quite rightly taking the heat for their own mess up.

No, its gamersnexus who are now off the list of pre-release access to the hardware. Break trust you get no free gear to play with to attract views.

The majority have no problems in keeping their trusted status but its AMDs fault? Nah... an agreement is an agreement.

I thought it was more about them trying to run, and then divest themselves of a sub-standard foundry business.
At the time the bosses had this vision of 'heterogeneous computing' and they needed their graphics firm to make this happen, the deal to buy Nvidia fell through and at the same time ATI run into trouble and were a perfect fit.

I would just overclock the Ti I can't see Vega being a worthwhile upgrade over it tbh

Posted on hardocp forum, no clue where its came from.

Can't you just buy a "RX Vega 64 Reference Design" then stick a 3rd party AIO on it?
You can, but you may lose warranty and it will probably look butt ugly relative to the one AMD are making.

I am not happy with performance or even price for performance from AMD with Vega, but I do really like the liquid cooled one. I think it looks very nice. As long as Gibbo does not try bend us over too hard on price, I may get one.

The good thing about it is, it will be faster than the 295x2 I had, run using much less power and be a lot less noisy. Oh and no need to wait for silly crossfire profiles :p

Awww you sure ? I know it's Gold rated 700W but it's technically Platinum, one of the reasons I went for it when I was doing my build back then.

If it's the case I need a PSU then I may as well use that £100+ and just get a 1080Ti instead

I must have misread your original post, I thought you were getting the air cooled version. The Liquid cooled one needs more power because of the pump. You might still be ok though. It's only a few more days until we know for sure.

if that graph is true then 56 could be roughly 25 percent faster than my fury for £400 which pretty much what I'm after

more graphs needed but if it is true and it is that price I'm interested. Any more than £400 and any less than a 25 percent increase and I'm out for this gen I think

There seems to be a disconnect between what RTG say and what the chip designers deliver. Overclockers dream comes to mind, the Polaris/RX "Uprising" campaign and I seem to remember someone (Raja?) hinting Vega would be VERY keenly priced wrt performance on offer.

Delivering 1080 performance a year + later at +/- 1080 pricing - no thanks, and I am long time AMD user, albeit not at the cutting edge. Vega 56 would usually be where my money would be segment wise, I just can't seem to justify it this time round if the pricing is as leaked.
