It's still all speculation, because (if I'm not mistaken) we don't know for a fact that these (Vega FE) results are from gaming drivers.

But yes, it does seem to be a fact that gaming drivers score significantly worse...

AMD would be killing their chances in the Professional Workstation field before Vega is even out if those Frontier Edition results were running Radeon Pro drivers; and couldn't even handily beat a card with less than 50% the TFLOPS, that's 50% cheaper from their own line up.

Yeah, I guess you're right... I'm quite convinced that these can only be gaming-driver results, but we still don't really know right?

Either way, about these results you posted before:

RX 480 (£240-500)
Catia = 92.14
CREO = 47.3
SolidWorks = 74.14
Cinebench OpenGL = 166

Radeon Pro WX 7100 (£660)
Catia = 104.34
CREO = 82.08
SolidWorks = 111.55
Cinebench OpenGL =197.11

...I believe the WX 7100 clocks at 1243MHz, but which RX480 was it that produced the red numbers? Reference?

The WX 7100 has a core clock of 1188Mhz with peak boost of 1243Mhz, and Memory is slower at 7Gbps / 224GB/s

The RX 480 was a reference, except the Cinebench OpenGL results; those were with a Gigabyte G1 aftermarket RX 480.

Hmm, the mining craze is still going, I am more worried about Vega stock more then before, intending to get one of those new samsung monitors that have HDR, QLED, 144 Hz, freesync 2 and at 1440p, my monitor choices are dictating my gpu choice, not the other way round as I feel there is no Gsync monitor like this and Samsung won't make a Gsync one since Nvidia did try to sue Samsung and failed. Will just have to stick with the Rx 480 for a bit longer ;/.

I was hoping more freesync 2 monitors would be out by now. That ugly curved Samsung is overpriced along with Vega.

If you time it right, could probably sell your 480 for the cost of Vega. No extra money spent

Yeah not sure if its worth it after taxes etc.. maybe get the £210 back which i paid for it though.

Vega due around end of July then?

Frontier is like 11 days away and the actual gaming card will be end of July. Dont think it changed.
Later in the year other versions appear, a combined cpu with vega I think. I would like if end of July there was 2 gaming cards or more even with some choice or is it just 1 Pro and 1 consumer version during the next 60 days

I sure as hell hope so, I don't know how much longer I can resist spending money :(

Same boat :D

Had a 7970
Suddenly died on me so reverted to a 6970 I had spare.

It's killing me using it though.
Just as I was settled on buying a 570.

Mining craze starts. Can't buy it....
Ok I'll go a little bit over budget and buy a 1060 6gb 2nd hand off warehouse for sub £200

Oh - price is going up as they're all being bought now....

Now I'm just staring at my pc dreaming of mining crashing or vega releasing so something allows me to buy :D

i am not trolling, what is due at the end of the year ? i am sure something is, i assumed its the gamers card as the frontier edition is next month?
