I expect to have an RX Vega in my machine in about 5-6 weeks time. The chances are pre-orders will go up end of July and cards will arrive 1st or 2nd weeks of August.
 
I think I 'll be waiting for an aftermarket version, with decent cooling etc, unless there is a water cooled one like Fury x. Still haven't seen anything concrete for RX Vega water cooled, only the FE one.

Aftermarket Polaris cards landed roughly 2 months after launch, so expect end of Sept if they're using that kind of timescale. Hopefully their will be aftermarket cards a few weeks after launch, who knows.

Very possibe.

If the watercooled version is no more than £100 extra, I will be going for that. I just hope they do not go silly like they did with the FE. If they price it too high I may just go for 1070/1080 performance Vega for cheap to keep me happy until Navi is out, then it can go into my other machine.

Oh of course, and this is always the best advice.

I just wanted to point out 7nm will be particularly exciting due to the process node being a bigger-than-normal jump. Also (not directly related to Navi/Volta and 7nm) 2018/2019 will coincide with us seeing Gen2 VR headsets with crazy resolutions and foveated rendering. Plus lots of interesting AAA games coming out (like Anthem), and games in general should start using Vulkan and DX12 properly commonly.

So 2018/2019 will be a great time for games and GPUs in general.

Might have you over a barrel for the watercooled version - might not be enough air cooled FE cards about for 3rd parties to release their own blocks for them.

I just hope they didn't go cheap on the watercooler like they did with the fury x. Despite all amd's waffle the pump noise issue was never resolved, it was purely down to luck if you got one that did it or not. I had a couple bought new for builds close to a year after launch and both still did it.

If they went Asetek directly again we'll have a quality AIO on there. The one used on the 295X2 was a beast considering it only had a single radiator.

I hope they learnt their lesson with Coolermaster; who even got sued and lost after Asetek went after them for patent infringement on their pump used on the Fury X.
