The Ampere RTX 3090 Owners Thread

Sooo yeah bagged a 3090 FE. Only took a year longer than hoped. May be ever so slightly bottlenecked until I get the rest upgraded to suit.

Running an I7-6700K and on 1440p atm lol
 
Hi, is there a way to enable msi afterburn fan profiles only when gaming?

Reason why i ask is because when not in gaming, i want the fan settings to be stock so it can use 0 rpm mode

Thought I'd update my build. Now out of the unicorn vomit 011 XL with all the RGB. I built a second rig out of spares in a H200i, and really liked it. So, H700i, 5900X arrived after months of waiting, new AIO, all new black Noctua industrial fans all-round, new Klevv Bolt RAM (32gb @ 3600), some cable-mod fanciness. Much happier with the subtle build.

There are a few ways, a custom fan profile where you decide what temps and speed you want the fan to kick in at or just another profile for gaming and click between the two. Or just use the fan slider.
 
I don't get what the issue is regarding the £1.9k price, I paid that at trade for my iChill x4. Which is absolutely glorious in my humble opinion :cry:

Now I really should push it to its limits right, what's the most graphics intensive game currently? Going to try out Flight Sim in 4k later, but what else are people playing?

The 3090, is a good card, but I prefer the 6900XT which fits nicely into my AMD setup. The 6900XT will play all my games on the highest settings, so I'm happy with that.

I think I may put the 6900xt in an X570 system I was planning and see which I prefer (10900/3090 or 5900x/6900xt). Though I think I may get some serious backlash if the Mrs finds out how much I've spent on pc stuff the last 12 months

Total joke of a card.

They could make it faster and cheaper by not trying to cater for everything.

Full cover waterblock and a good OC BIOS is all that is needed.
 
Joined the overkill VRAM club this week.

There seems to be a glut of FE cards turning up at the moment. Grabbed mine for MSRP - VAT + GST.

Can't get over what a chungus the FE 3090 is. Banana and Gigabyte 1070 provided for scale.
