The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Having had a truly bad couple of weeks, I thought I'd rewatch a certain anime about a terraformed mars with a lot of characters whose names start with A, which is just as good and soothing as I remembered :) (although I'm only a few episodes in).

Can't say wing/seed really did much for me personally when I watched it. Gundam wasn't my first mecha series (that was zoids, then robotech) so that didn't help I suppose.

I will say gundam build fighters (try is season 2) is really good in my opinion, it's not pure gundam like wing/00 etc, it's got an element of slice of life too, it's on youtube :)

Unicorn is worth a watch for the art if nothing else, I thought the story was a little lacklustre overall but graphically it's really nice.

I enjoyed Gundam 00 but not everyone will.

I love Gundam :D

Gundam Age was surprising good too 3 generations of pilots in the same story

Msi igloo was a good one too -cgi is superb and focus on the Zeon perspective

Gundam Wing for me was awful imo but most loved it. Nice mobile suit designs but story was bad :(

Gundam seed/destiny/00 was excellent, best imo

Gundam Unicorn - top draw and very recent, loved the Aimer songs

Gundam build Fighter was good and a lot of fun although more focus on their model line

Gundam build Fighter Try like you mentioned was surprisingly good :D

Try Intro

It is always worth a re-watch ... although the last series always gets me ....

I was browsing Lovefilm and came across GITS SAC available for download.

They offer a HD version so I decided to go online to find a bluray version of the SAC and 2nd gig. However, I can't find a HD version on disc.

Does anyone know if its worth paying the extra to download the HD versions from Lovefilm?

The only version on Blu-ray with any English is directly from Japan, which both seasons will set you back £350 all in from Yes-Asia, i am planning to get it soon but i'll wait for the exchange rate to improve a little

Inou Battle wa Nichijou-kei no Naka de + Humour + Special Powers = Acceptable ;)

When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace, known in Japan as Inou Battle Within Everyday Life, is a Japanese light novel series by Kota Nozomi with illustrations

Youtube popped up with an advert for the new black butler film. Just read the reviews, they seem to have completely changed (read: ruined) the story. I won't be watching :p

I watched the train wreck that was the battleship yamato film (Stick to yamato 2199 guys) it can't be any worse than that. Live action anime films seems to be horrid no matter what east or west. As a gundam fan (or complete nutter) G-savour is personal Satan of mine

I'm sure next years Attack on Titian live action film (or is it 2016 its due ?) will be as bad as the porno version.

I quite liked the live action yamato film .... Mostly for its general "so bad it's good" and general cheesiness. As a faithful recreation, yes it is lsckinv, but it is still worth a watch.

Having received the Gurren Laggan set the other day I've just started watching it in Japanese with subs, but it seems the songs aren't subbed in english (from trying both subtitle tracks), but is in French.

Morning all,

I fancy watching some anime.

After something that has a lot of mystery and horror. It doesn't have to have OTT gore, but I really don't want over sexualised characters.

I just watched Shiki and that was quite enjoyable.

I'd say that Monster fits that bill, it's only available on the five part Australian dvd though.
