Ah lucky! Are you going alone or with people?
My group, there is about 20+ of us so far. We going to be spending 3 weeks over there with 2 in Tokyo and 1 in Kyoto.
I was originally going to go to time it to see the next Animelo Summer Live but can't miss a chance like this to go with others with the same interests and the fact they been before, it's too good to miss out.
How long are you going out again for?
JPOP wise, you should be able to find lots of local bands I guess at music bars and small events I guess?
I'm going for just under 3 weeks this time, mostly in Tokyo with a week split between Sapporo and Osaka. I'm traveling with my Dad (for family reasons I often go away with him and my Sister goes away with my Mum) ... he does like some anime but mostly we'll each be doing our own things a lot of the time as we both have other interests.
I've done everything I can at the moment relating seeing the JPop groups I would like to see whilst out there, there are a few other things I can do but they will have to wait till a few days before any shows and I won't know if what I have done has worked or not until then as well.
can someone recommend me a new anime to watch thats already finished?
Im really looking to find something as close to berserk as possible. Ive watched claymore, attack on titan, hellsing, gantz, shigurui etc and loved them all. Just struggling to find more of these dark tragic, monsters/mythical beings/samurai/edo era.
As per usual take pecnarf massive list with a large pinch of salt and if you are actually spending money to buy series make sure that you carefully look at what the series actually are before getting anything, although in fairness this list isn't quite as bad as the normal ones.
I would suggest the following ...
Samurai Champloo
Samurai 7
And out of left field I would suggest Sakura Wars which is a steam punk series set in a fantastical 1920's Tokyo.
there been one or two good anime to live action film of late the. Rurouni Kenshin, the girl who leap through time and Majo no Takkyubin AKA Kiki`s Delivery Service which I've haven't seen yet but it suppose to be good. the kite live action is suppose to be bad as it had a lot of source material tone down, in order to get a 15 rating. some have even said they butter it.
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time live action film, whilst pretty good, isn't an adaption of the anime though ... both are taken from the same source novel (as are the many other adaptions of the story over the years). Personally I find both the anime and the live action film a lot better than the original story.
