The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Finished Ao Haru Ride yesterday ... quite a nice series of its type but it did feel like it could have been more, (along the lines of Kimi ni Todoke). The main issue being that it didn't seem to really go anywhere near the end.

Also finished a quick re-watch of Manabi Straight. It is one of my all time favorite little series and if you look past the character design it is surprisingly deep at times.

edit: Arrrrgh, I see there is a new blu-ray boxset for Maria-sama ga Miteru due out in Japan in December ... it's pitty it won't have subtitles as it looks like a very god (although ~£240) set. Description given is that it includes: "Blu-ray box release featuring the complete TV anime series (39 episodes, 3 seasons) and OVA series (5 episodes), 100-page illustration book, special CD (3 soundtrack CDs and 2 other CDs), fan disc (3 discs)."

Finished Zankyou no Terror last night ... interesting drama series about some anti-hero terrorists in Tokyo with a pretty good story. But again it did leave you feeling it might have been possible to do more with it.

I just finished rewatching Maria-sama ga Miteru for like the 5th time just a few weeks ago. Great series, a true masterpiece. Shame it didn't have any more seasons since the Manga went further but I can't deny that the series ended well, wrapped everything up.

I'm still waiting for someone to sub the live action movie, I keep nagging groups and friends to do it and lately been trying to enquire how much it would cost for someone to sub it for me.

I hope the BD isn't just a reskin but a true upgrade to the old series, be nice to watch it again but in HD.

seems to be a lot of anime and tv shows ending up like that now sadly...

There's only really a couple of anime studios (Bones and Sunrise for example) that consistently put out series that don't seem to have been rushed or poorly translated from the manga. A lot of the others seem a little hit and miss. But then Sunrise and Bones are probably two of the best funded anime studios.

Luckily I've got higher hopes for this season, we have 2 gundam series and the alternate telling of fate stay night :)

Neil this seasons 'blood and guts' black sections anime is likely going to be terraformers based on first episode... the blacking out is strong with this one, several scenes literally had the full screen blacked out apart from a tiny 'white out' at the top lol

It might be one for dvd/blu ray release....although not sure how the plot will pan out

Noticed that Kite ,you know the Anime/hentai ova whatever has now been made into a movie. Not very good according to the reviews i saw though
and not at all like the original ;)hentai version

Tokyo Ghoul 11.... Drool! Just my kinda anime

Great show. Watched the last (believe it to be) episode of the series a few weeks ago. Wish I hadnt plowed through it so fast lol.

Now waiting for the next season of Attack on Titan!

Majo no Takkyubin AKA Kiki`s Delivery Service has now been made live action :D
Hope it gets subbed soon as i would definitely buy this

I fly out on Monday :)

... spent a chunk of this week working out if it is feasible to try and see a JPOP group I like, which it looks like it is but I have (at best) only a 1 in 30 chance of getting a ticket and won't know until a couple of days before ...

Ah lucky! Are you going alone or with people?

My group, there is about 20+ of us so far. We going to be spending 3 weeks over there with 2 in Tokyo and 1 in Kyoto.

I was originally going to go to time it to see the next Animelo Summer Live but can't miss a chance like this to go with others with the same interests and the fact they been before, it's too good to miss out.

How long are you going out again for?

JPOP wise, you should be able to find lots of local bands I guess at music bars and small events I guess?

can someone recommend me a new anime to watch thats already finished?

Im really looking to find something as close to berserk as possible. Ive watched claymore, attack on titan, hellsing, gantz, shigurui etc and loved them all. Just struggling to find more of these dark tragic, monsters/mythical beings/samurai/edo era.

there been one or two good anime to live action film of late the. Rurouni Kenshin, the girl who leap through time and Majo no Takkyubin AKA Kiki`s Delivery Service which I've haven't seen yet but it suppose to be good. the kite live action is suppose to be bad as it had a lot of source material tone down, in order to get a 15 rating. some have even said they butter it.
