The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Reminds me, I need to prod my cinema when I go this evening to watch a live action Japanese film to find out if any of their showings of Princess Kaguya (from this Friday) will be in Japanese or if they will all be dubbed.

Edit: I'm sure that the question shouldn't be that hard but all they can tell me is that they have both versions of the film, not which is showing when .... At least they said they will drop me an email tomorrow (as I pointed out their email is broken so you can't send them any ....)

Watched Princess Kaguya earlier, (in Japanese with subtitles). I'm not going to comment on the story itself as it's best if people watch it unspoiled.

It's a nice film and looks very very nice. It is more artistic than a normal Ghibli film with the images quite rough at times to convey the emotion and energy of the situation. It is a more traditional Japanese story compared with some of the Ghibli films.

Issues; the subtitles are quite difficult to read at times as frequently they are white on a light background. Also it feels like a long film at times ... it's not one of those films which you watch and get into it enough that when it's over you wonder where the time has gone ... it does seem long ...

Watched the movie for Bodacious Space Pirates last night. Overall I thought it was very good although it's more of a side story rather than full continuation of the original series (which would be even better). If you have seen the series then the film is well worth a watch.

It would be nice if we got another series of this in the future.

I've yet to see the movie, but the series was fun :)

I'm currently watching Toradora which I'm really enjoying (it's slightly different to what I've been watching recently), and very funny at times.

I've also been reading been reading the Spice & Wolf books, having got them all on the shelf but only previously read the first one, by the looks of it book three seems to take it to about the end of the second season if my memory of the anime is correct.
I wish they'd do more anime of it.

memyselfandi, it sounds like the Princess Kaguya are the traditional "burned in" film type which is a shame, given these days they distribute most films digitally to the cinema's you'd have hoped that by now they'd have sorted out a readable sub for the cinema :( (animeago have a great bit on their site explaining why they use the subs they do on their DVD's).

Finished Toradora which was really enjoyable
I half expected the cockatoo/budgie/parrot thing to fall over dead more than once:p

I'm not sure if I should try something a little older next, or something new, either way I've got a huge list of things and not enough time without interruption.

Watched Yuri Kuma Arashi yesterday,or I should say started to watch :(
Managed to finish 3 eps before I deleted off my hdd
Not many series I can`t finish even if I don't really like them but this was utter rubbish(in my opinion )

But I did manage to watch Abyss of Hyperspace on Fri :)
Liked this, thought it was a nice `continuation`of the series and like Andi I am hoping for a second series

Paprika is great, it's a great shame that Satoshi Kon died so young :(

I'm looking forward to the second season of Attack on Titan.

RE streaming sites, (reminder to everyone keep it legal!;)), IIRC there is http://www.viewster.com/ who stream some stuff, www.animaxtv.co.uk, and a few others.

The thing is that there will almost always be regional restrictions, and for the better/newer content you'll probably have to pay a sub so they can actually afford to pay for the rights to show it.
A quick google found a page on manga UK's site which has a listing of streaming services here.

Finished Attack on Titan. Cliffhangers are the worst in that show, after each one I was like one more episode :o

Finished Kill La Kill too which was fantastic. Looked around online and going to start watching Sword Art Online, Terror In Resonance, Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Monsters. Should keep me entertained for a while. Any other recommendations?

This is a must watch! Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso

BTW It was probably posted before, as its truly amazing :D

Edit

What anime host site would you guys recommend? My friend uses crunchyroll, but I noticed that a lot of anime titles are not on there... :[

Re hosting/streaming site, most of the legal ones will have limited content per site as they have to negotiate and pay for the rights.

There is a link to Manga UK's page listing uk streaming sites in my previous post, and without wanting to come over all serious, I would like to remind people of the general site policy on piracy etc, so no links etc to non legal/pirate streaming or download sites for anime.
