The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Just finished watching Steins;Gate. Really enjoyed it, didn't expect myself to like it as much as I did. I was on episode 17 before the start of yesterday, I just had to finish it once I had started as I needed to know how the story went on. :o

Ahhh, I know that feeling, it's been a while since I've had it from a series. Its the moment you know you're hooked though :D

Edit:
Quick question - I noticed yesterday when ordering the mainstay of my order from Rightstuf yesterday they have Tekkaman Blade also on sale right now. It'd cost about £25. I remeber this being one of the first shows I actually sure in the vein of anime, as one of my ex's liked the show and had got me to locate it for her, absolutely years ago.

Because of this, I'm feeling strange urges to grab it to stick on my shelf and potentially rewatch one day. The key point though, is, is it actually any good and WORTH picking up. Anyone else seen it and might be able to give better feedback than I?

Edit 2:
Apparently Anime-On-Line are meant to be getting Welcome to the NHK in next week, a month earlier than the official release. I'm thinking of asking for it for Xmas now, as the little I've heard of it makes me think I might enjoy it.

Did you get wtf is going on? Watched the first 2 episode and was horribly confused, would appreciate a few hints!

Is that just the Japanese boxset that's been released in Japan with the Japanese company choosing to release it in the West rather than going down the route of producing a localised boxset through a company like Funimation. That might explain the huuggeeee...price difference and the need to retail it at such a high price.

Just an educated guess. Someone more in the know feel free to correct me.

Basically yes ... Although IIRC the US set has an extra booklet with translations for the main booklet.

It's not the easiest of animes to follow but yeah I didn't find myself getting lost at all. I suppose you have to be good with time concepts to have no problems with it, worth it mind. Also you need to watch more than the first two episodes, once I was at 4/5 I was totally hooked.

Just started watching Hanasaku Iroha, not bad so far and I watched the first 4 in a row which is once more a good sign. Intrigued what direction it will go.

I only have one hint: watch more than 2 episodes :p

The start is a bit confusing, but it will all make sense if you keep watching. It's not a particularly hard series to follow after the beginning, in my opinion.

Steins;Gate is probably my favourite series of 2011, but I still have a few others I want to see.

I've not managed to watch much anime the past week or so, but I did get my Spice and Wolf v5 through this morning, as well as the Full Metal Panic Blu-ray collection I ordered cheap from Amazon last week.
I was surprised that it arrived in about 4-5 days and was delivered by DHL despite me only paying the basic international shipping charge.

Ooooh lucky, mine haven't arrived yet despite shipping on the 30th. Perhaps I shouldn't have paid for the expidited post! haha

Watched Princess Mononoke today, pretty good film. Soundtrack was also quite nice at points.

Muttermuttermutter ... I've had something awaiting customs clearance since late on the 7th :(

Watching Girl Meets Girl atm. Kinda strange love triangle but still kinda enjoyable.

Kashimashi? ... a classic ...

Hahah, I feel your pain Andi, problem for me is I haven't even been notified as to whether I have anything IN customs.

Fortunately I have a tracking number so can at least follow where things are currently stuck :(

Struggled through the last few episodes of Softenni earlier, (to be fair the struggling part wasn't really the series' fault).

It's a reasonable little series about a high school soft tennis team, (soft tennis is similar to normal tennis but uses softer balls which affects the game play).

It's a fairly fun little comedy series with some laugh out loud moments. Don't expect things like character growth ... just light hearted comedy which can be a little surreal at times.

Luckily they arrived today. No signs of customs charges either thankfully. Can't see me being do lucky with the Rightstuf orders though.

I do wish RS would at least offer faster or traceable postage overseas but they never seem to.

Liking Hanasaku Iroha so far, about 6 episodes in so far, doubt I'd have watched it if it wasn't for you guys mentioning it on here. Also I like the opening song, which is always good.
