The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

in case anyone going to pre-order perfect blue, if you order off all the anime and use PERFECTULTIMATE as discount code you can get it for £59.99 instead of £89.99 but that only until Sunday 24 march.

Sees there is a £5 coupon code on Amazon today for spending £25+ ... buys £100 worth of anime ... doh

Meanwhile I have visitors at the end of the week so the December "big heap of Anime piled on the second sofa"(tm) has had to be relocated to "big heap of anime on top of one of the bookcases in the spare bedroom"(tm). Really need to do some sorting out as I know I've got some duplication partly due to me not remembering what I have and because the BDs in particular are just piled in all over the place. Really need two more 6 shelf bookcases for anime but don't have the space to put them anywhere.

LOL I managed to avoid that:) (this time)
I've got to avoid buying any more anime for a month or so as I've overspent repeatedly with the likes of the Christmas deals and a new TV (and have a huge backlog of stuff to watch).

I finished Assassination Classroom which I've thoroughly enjoyed, the last few episodes took a slightly darker turn than most of the rest of the season and I liked the ending (and the fact it had an ending:p)
I wouldn't mind a sequel/side story for it though...
It's one of the best series I've seen in a the last year, that's for certain.

[edit]
I've started tracking how much anime I'm watching out of curiosity and it's currently quite low (about 45 minutes a night), mainly due to decorating and trying to do some models (I've taken to making use of my audible books/buying the audible versions of some of the books I'be bought on the kindle as often they're only £3-5 for the audio version).

Oh I have a huuuuge backlog too ... but instead of buying anime over the next month I have other Japanese media releases coming out which are going to cost way more :( ... and add to the backlog on that side too!

Am going to see Penguin Highway at the cinema at the weekend though.

This weekends watching sorted. Got the Japanese BD release of Let Me Eat Your Pancreas (anime version) ...no subtitles but I know the story so should be a good watch.

I'm currently still working my way through the December stuff:p

Just finished watching lain on Blu-ray, which was fun and the first time I've seen it in years:)

I'm probably going to take a break from Anime tonight and watch Wreck it Ralph 2 (yes I know:p), then probably Princess Aretta or the Case of Alice and Hana.

Finished Katanagatari last night. A quirky little anime, but very solid. Some great ideas in it, and the animation style was refreshingly different.

Netflix have announced 4 cast members for their cowboy bebop live adaptation.

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. In related news: no.

Received my copy of the collectors edition of Made in Abyss today (ordered as part of the A-O-L 12 Days of Christmas). Really nice little box set, coming with a nice solid box, a great little book and some really good art cards. And a good saving over the current price on Amazon too :)

edit: And whilst I agree with @Evangelion in general above I do know of several live action versions of licenses which are actually really good as well, (Let Me Eat Your Pancreas and Chihayafuru spring to mind)

Anyone watching the remake of Fruits Basket?
Apparently the author was not too impressed with the original anime series and this new series will be more in line with the manga
Will have to wait and see :)

I'm going to watch the FB reboot, I'd quite like to read the manga sometime but IiRC it went out of print for a long time (saying that I see it's now on Amazon as collectors edition in paper and eversion)

Yes, I have the original FB manga release but have been tempted to pick up the newer collectors release as well ... but it would probably be added to the pile of manga which i will probably never get around to reading/re-reading so isn't really worth it.

My spare room which is where most of the my Anime and Manga is stored is reaching critical mass anyway which is going to be a bit problematic ....

Not read the manga or seen the original airing for Fruits Basket but really enjoyed the first episode. Just finished watching The Promised Neverland which was an interesting watch

amazon prime has half the price for prime channels add-on's so currently you pay £2.49/month for 3 months for FunimationNow Channel. then after 3 months it goes back to £4.99

Definition of scary .... decide to up date your profile on myanimelist with things you have watched ... do a (very very rough) run through looking at whats been released over the last 20 years or so (so there will be things which have been missed as they were released before then and probably things that have been missed on the run through) ... and comes to 15k+ episodes with a run time of ~194 days .... ouch ... (especially with the amount that is probably missing on top of that)

edit: actually it hadn't updated the summary ... make that ~256 days
