The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Apparently there is a sequel to this.
thats all i know though

It's supposed to be a trilogy I think. The first film is out on R1, although there's a Directors Cut release coming out soon and the second film had it's Japanese theatre release last September.

The third film has not come out in Japan yet hence will be a tad difficult to see at the moment :)

I would say that the earliest it will be out is probably 6 months after the theatre release, so you are probably looking at May/June at the earliest.

Watched a few new episode 1's this morning ...

Amagami SS plus (season 2) ... this very much continued in the same vein as season 1 so if you liked that series then it looks like you will like this one, (I did so hopefully I will :))

High School DxD ... I wasn't sure how I was going to like this but from the first episode I thought that it was pretty reasonable. Some nice supernatural action and reasonable characters. How the plot turns out we will have to wait longer to find out.

Kill Me Baby ... this fell a bit flat for me. The humour just didn't click at all and I don't know if I'll be following it further.

Moretsu Pirates ... seemed a pretty reasonable first episode to me. To early to tell how the plot will develop further but it was a quite good mixture of things going on and reasonable characters.

Nisemonogatari ... it was ok. I had about the same feeling for this as for Bakemonogatari which I did feel to be over-rated and a bit up itself at times.

Recorder to Randoseru ... Short, kind of amusing. I'm not really keen on this idea of having a series made up of tiny little episodes as I find it difficult to really get into it.

Rinne no Lagrange ... it was an ok first episode for a series of it's type. I don't think that it's going to be great in the end and I did prefer Moretsu Pirates to it on the basis of the first episode. It has potential but I'm not sure that it will live up to it in the end.

Senki Zesshou Symphogear ... this was amazingly mediocre. I liked the premise of the series from the description of it but the execution was just average. I've seen worse, but I've also seen better. I'll probably watch the rest of the series but it's a low priority.

Overall I'd say that the episode 1's above have given me a better impression than the episode 1's from the Autumn season.

In other news ... booked flights and hotels for Japan later this year yesterday :D

The thread covers anime and manga, although I'm not quite sure what point you are trying to make. Genres were only given as examples and remember that this forum is "family friendly".

wasnt making any point, was just going by the thread title.

and there is plenty of ecchi thats more family friendly than some posts on these forums.... figures people still think that its all 18+ stuff. (similar to how kids movies have adult jokes in them, the kids dont have a clue)

Well the level of moderation of some of the other threads within the forum and whether they meet the rules on family friendly-ness is a whole other problem which is outside the scope of this thread.

Personally I would say that things which are broadcastable on the ecchi front are probably discussable as they are not yet down at the level of hentai (normally, although it's arguable with some series that their DVD/BD releases have been treading a fine line once they've lost the censorship shown in the broadcasts, e.g. Yosuga no Sora). But Werewolf would be able to give the final say.

The thing is though, we will discuss series with Ecchi elements, but generally, Ecchi series that I've seen fall into other Genres where Ecchi is an element, rather than only what its for (which sounds more like Hentai to me).

Examples:
KissXSis and Rosario&Vampire; both have ecchi elements, and have been discussed previously.

We just wont discuss things that are too risque for the forum or that break the policies on illegal downloads etc.

Very nice, where are you intending to go?
I wont be going for another few years once one of my younger brothers has finished Uni, but its still good to get ideas :)

It's all very high level at the moment ... currently four nights Tokyo, four nights Kyoto, 6 nights Tokyo with flights to and from Tokyo. Which gives the basic structure, but we'll be getting a seven day JR pass to get from Tokyo to Kyoto so will probably be going out from there to other places, (I've been to Kyoto twice before already so really using it as a bit of a base), with the same for the first couple of days back in Tokyo afterwards as the pass will still be valid.

For instance I know I'll be going back to Osaka one day, but I haven't really decided fully yet (we're not going until October so plenty of time to plan things out :)). I've got several places I want to go to, or back to, in the Tokyo area and I'll be talking to my Japanese teacher for suggestions too.

Also got reasonable deals on the hotels we wanted booking now, (20% off the Tokyo one and 50% off (all but one night) at the Kyoto one). Flights were pricey though, (direct, premium economy).

I would have liked to spend some time in Hokkaido to but it just worked out to expensive in the end this time.

edit: Watched the Sentai BD release of Coicent and Five Numbers earlier. Both of these are single episode OVAs and I got on with them a lot better than the last couple of OVAs they released in the same way.

Coicent is set in a futuristic Nara and is a nice little story about a boy visiting and running into a strange girl. Has a lot of deer and some large Buddha statues ... like the real place really.

Five Numbers is about a set of characters in a futuristic prison. Of the two I would say that this is the weaker story but it is still a reasonable watch.

KissXSis has ecchi elements? There wouldn't be much left if you took the ecchi out of that show especially the ova heh.

I could seriously do with a NEW bloody anime movie, I mean bloody as in gore none of this softy stuff that's out recently

Same here although there has been a few good live action remakes recently. Gantz (Second movie goes beyond the anime), spaceship yamato and Blood last vampire.
