The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Yeah, I've taken a punt on the MVM one ... the odds are better than the ATA one for me and given that I've avoided having to replace my BD players this week(*) I can take a punt.

(*) been having some firmware compatibility issues with the multiregion BD hack on them which meant that it was refusing to play some disks no matter what region they were from (just not recognising them as BDs at all in some cases). But new firmware came out this week and upgrading to that seems to have addressed the issue at least for one Japanese concert boxset which wasn't playing on either player in any region setting before. Did also find that the UK BD for the second Kingsman film makes quite a good test as it is region locked to B and if it fails as your player is set to A it clearly tells you that.

Oh and as the exchange rate improved a little grabbed a few more Yen for next year.

the last mystery bundles I ordered was off AtA it was the one that had firework, a silent voice, both parts of Junjo Romantica, those were the only title in the bundle that I didn't have other blu-ray in the bundle I already had. so I avoid the ata mystery bundles this time.

I keep meaning to get into it, but the length of the series puts me off given I'm struggling to find good "anime viewing" time at the moment (especially for new and sub only stuff where I have to be able to pay full attention).
 
I had season 1 for ages ... but the complexity of all the different names and not really knowing what came before what always put me off from getting more. I had put various elements in my basket on Amazon several times when its been on offer but never pulled the trigger. I now should have all of the elements listed.

Of course it will go into the backlog which is getting rather ridiculous again. The silly thing is that I had about 2.5 months off with nothing much to do this year and probably didn't watch more than a season or two. I'd say 90%+ of last years 12 Day's series, plus things bought during the year, are completely unwatched still.

That's pretty much the identical reason I've not got back into it, I think I saw a few but I struggle with series like that where you've got numerous interlinked titles that may or may not run alongside each other.

I could probably have splashed a couple of hundred more so far, but apart from a couple of pre-orders (Toradora and Shamploo blu-rays) and the mystery box nothing has been grabbing me as "now, now now" :) given i'm trying to show more restraint than last year (I'm not sure I've managed given ATA's funi clearance).
 
I just this minute received my Red and Blue Alltheanime mystery boxes and I'm really chuffed with them, only two titles I'd already got on blu-ray, and several that I'd been meaning to get.

I'm really happy with that as I've nearly bought Angelic layer, Rokka and Genius party multiple times, and I've been meaning to get Re: Zero.

I also received my Gunsmith Cats kickstarter premium set :D

Just an update for everyone regarding our 12 Days Christmas orders.

Days 1-4 have been shipped. Stock for day's 5 & 6 have just arrived and providing stock is all there I’ll be packing them up tomorrow, ready to ship hopefully out Monday.

Unfortunately due to delays with stock arriving, and us [or rather me] fulfilling Anime Limited's orders, any orders from day 9 onwards will not get shipped until after the new year.

Bit of a screw up as it turns out I already have Love & Lies and Nisemonogatari. I do also have Maid Sama and Sakura Trick but only on DVD. I did almost order way more but managed to find that I already had them before hitting buy ... Really need to sort out my anime BDs

Sorry for hijacking the thread as I'm not sure on where to put this and remember this thread.
The little one was aking for a miku figure and was looking at amazon but most sellers are from japan.
What I want to know if you paid any import fee and if, how much?

Depends on the cost of the item .... assuming over £15 then you'll probably get charged VAT and handling charge from the shipping company. Duty doesn't tend to factor in unless the item is quite a lot.

Does mean that, given that the handling charge can be a significant element, that sometimes its worth considering going to Amazon JP directly and then seeing if the transaction allows pre-payment of fees (as that avoids the handling charge on top of everything else). Another option is to use a site like FromJapan where you pay more in fees but you can define exactly your package declaration.
 
From MVM

Our last day is officially done. Most of our Day 5 and 6 orders have shipped. Unfortunately we were several boxes short [and as of yet have no idea where they are] which just happened to have stock for our DVD mystery bundle, and part stock for the BD bundle. So if you have ordered a DVD bundle, sadly it won't get shipped till after the New Year.

We'll be back Thursday 2nd, so all email and order enquiries will be dealt with upon our return.

got email off ATA saying that because I did the 12 days of xmas after the 8th of December the two items order will not come until after new year. also got email of AOL saying mystery box has been dispatch today.
