The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

I was sorting out some of my web space the other day and found there was a list on there which I had once done which listed a substantial amount of disks I had purchased by that time ... And that was around 5+ years old, in fact probably older. There was four figures of entries in it even then.

The scary one was that I sorted out an extra three shelf bookcase the other day as my Japanese concert boxsets needed more storage. Now admittedly the majority were purchased second hand but even then you are talking, depending on item and exchange rate, £60-100 (new items you are talking £150-200) ... And the bookcase is nigh on full and where they came from seems to have little difference in the amount I have there ...

I'm currently avoiding the rabbit hole that is Japanese drama series releases as much as possible, (I did pick up one series second hand whilst I was out there in October ... Reduced to £130~ which gives some idea why I don't want to go there ...)
You're making me feel much better about my plastic habits:p
 
I did hold off, but today I have discovered MVMs site has an order limit of 10 items per order. :<
I just ordered a couple of titles, one i've been meaning to get for ages, and another that I spent a while looking for a good price on the other day without registering it was an MVM title:p

Given today's offers are being described as "Clearance day part 2" I suspect most of these are pretty close to last chance, at least for the complete sets (the part seasons have probably been replaced by full season sets).
 
I've had a couple of shipments form Anime-on-line arrive today and notification of an order from the 8th day of their sale shipping:)

So far none of my ATA orders have shipped, although they did say it would likely be 7-14 days between ordering and shipping, so it looks like I'm going to get a deluge of orders probably after Christmas and into the first/second week of January, which would be mildly annoying if I was desperate for anything, but I've got so much to watch that I'm sort of dreading the backlog buildup:p (I've still got Fireworks to watch from it's release, Harmony from months ago, ditto for In this corner of the world, and I found Love Election & Chocolate and Kill me Baby from last year).
 
Just received an email from ATA, it turns out they were using a different distribution centre to normal to try and deal with the order numbers better, and it sounds like the distribution people have messed up.

You're receiving this message as you placed an order during our recent AllTheAnime.com 12 Days of Christmas sales. This is email is to provide an general overview update on where things stand with orders currently, though we appreciate many of you reading may have received your orders.

First of all before going any further on behalf of everyone at All The Anime / Anime Ltd. we want to profusely apologise for the delay in receiving what you ordered.

We want to make sure we give context for what has happened, what we've done (and continuing to do) to try and rectify this, and what the current standing of things are.

This is going to be a long message, but we want to make sure we as clear and transparent as we can be on the situation.

What's happened -
To give full context (and in case you're not aware), we contracted a distribution centre - different to who normally fulfils orders for us, so as to cope with demand - to handle the fulfilment of all orders during this busy period in a timely manner.

Although thousands of orders have been fulfilled, the distribution centre finally made us aware earlier this week that there will still many orders unfulfilled despite claiming that software issues that had caused delays in shipping initially were fixed, that all was in hand and ultimately not alerting us to the situation despite us raising many concerns about the status of fulfilment for well over a week prior to that.

Needless to say we're incredibly frustrated and unhappy with the poor service of the distribution centre at this critical period, and we're even more unhappy that this poor service has been passed on to our customers.

Though in the grand scheme of things we are a small company, the quality of service we provide is something we take pride in. It's something we have built for our AllTheAnime.com online store over the years and it's not at all fair that your experience ordering from us has been impacted in this way.

Since then for the past 48 hours we've been working with the distribution centre to ensure that any outstanding issues are resolved, and to try and get visibility on where things currently stand so we can accurately update all our customers being impacted by this. We have finally been granted the information we've been requesting, hence why you're receiving this message now.

Where do things currently stand:
Now that we have this information we've been requesting, as we mentioned earlier thousands of orders have been fulfilled.

At time of writing around 1000 orders have already been shipped to customers, while there are over 2400 orders currently being prepared for shipping, with the plan being (all going well) for the majority if not all of those to be dispatched tonight (Friday 21st December) via the TNT courier service.

Whether these orders will be able to arrive in time for Christmas at this late stage is something we simply cannot answer I'm afraid - although a significant portion of these orders should arrive with customers on Monday, obviously this being Christmas Eve means we can't make any guarantees of these orders arriving in time for Christmas itself.

Beyond this batch of orders, we have been told the remaining orders will be picked and packed for shipping over the coming days with the goal being to have all of those being dispatched across the 27th and 28th of December when courier services resume after Christmas.

Though we've been assured that all of the remaining orders are going to be shipped as fast as humanly possible, I'm sure you can understand given what we've said above why we're not taking that completely at face value.

How do I find out the status of my order(s)?
We know a lot of you have contacted us since midnight this morning (Friday 21st December) asking for an update. We are responding to all of these queries as fast as possible as we're sending this and will continue to do throughout tonight and tomorrow as needed.

If you would like to get the latest update on your order(s), please respond to this email providing us the order numbers in question and we'll update you as soon possible.

Can I cancel my order?
Yes. We understand that what you ordered may have been intended to be a gift for Christmas, or simply put it won't arrive in time for you. We're more than happy to accommodate any cancellation requests.

To do this please respond to this email with the order number(s) in question and we can do that for you.

I will add it's entirely possible that due to the processes of the distribution centre your order my still get shipped, but we can discuss returns and such separately should that occur.


A final word:
Once again on behalf of everyone at All The Anime / Anime Ltd., we offer our deepest and sincerest apologies for this.

Despite our planning of utilising a distribution centre that's meant be well equipped in dealing with the demand of orders we received over the sale period at our site, we have been let down tremendously by their service.

We know this doesn't change the fact this has impacted you, but please know we have been and are continuing to do everything in our power to get this rectified as timely as possible.

We're truly grateful for your custom, support and understanding at this time, and please rest assured that we share your frustrations and will be doing our utmost to ensure that this kind of situation is never repeated, even during a busy period such as this one.

Had another couple of orders from mvm arrive this morning:)

So I've had about half my orders from them now (8 out of 16 items), but none from ATA.
I suspect given the email from ATA I'll probably get a bunch of orders from them arrive within a couple of days either Christmas Eve, or more likely just before new years.


I started watching Love Live last night as I had to go to bed early due to a bad back*, and ended up watching about four episodes and thoroughly enjoyed it.


*Somehow I pulled it the other day, as near as I can tell in my sleep:rolleyes::mad:
 
Watched some more Love Live last night and I'm really enjoying it, it's silly and lighthearted fun:)

I also just had a package through from ATA via TNT which I think is of the mystery boxes going by the "purchase order", although I'm not sure if it's Production or Marketing.

It sounds like they may have got one lot of the mystery bundles out but not the other as we both ordered both sets from memory.

Rather annoyingly my TV started playing up Chrismas day, at first I thought the TV was totally gone as all I seemed to be getting was flashes of a offset ghost image, but it turns out it's "just" the OSD side of things that has decided to start dying and the TV had set itself to an unused input. I suspect it's something like a capacitor on the OSD control board as after the TV has been on for 15 minutes the OSD sometimes comes back (or at least shows as a partial flickering image).
So I'm looking for a new TV, but hoping this one doesn't die totally this month:)
I was surprised to see a 43 4k HDR panny was only about £550, I paid more than that for my current 32" 1080 one back in '08 (and it's done something like 20k hours of use).
 
Watched Your Name for the 3rd time, still fantastic
I really want to get round to watching both Your Name and Silent voice again some time soon, but so much stuff to watch:p (I found two series I bought in the 2017 ATA/MVM sales I haven't watched, and so many series on their way).


I just finished Love Live seasons 1 and 2, and really enjoyed them (should I really be saying that on here?), it's one of those anime that had me smiling away for much of it, and the songs were oddly catchy/enjoyable.
 
I'll probably see if I can find that concert version:)

I just had an email from MVM saying they've "completed" (so hopefully shipped) one of my orders from the 17th, nothing from ATA though yet, but hopefully they'll start arriving next week.
 
Apparently ATA should have shipped all the orders now with a few noted exceptions according to an email I got earlier.

The annoying bit for me is, assuming ATA ship using TNT again (or even RM) there is a good chance I won't be in when the delivery arrives if it comes Monday, as everyone will be out for much of the day (literally the only day that's been the case for a month).

This email is provide an general update on where things stand with remaining orders. The information below is based on the latest details we have received from the distribution centre on 4th January 2019.
We would also like to make it known that if you are waiting on a response to an email you have already sent us, we are working as fast as we can to respond to each one. But we wanted to get this update sent to everyone to provide some information in the interim.

To begin with we would again like to apologise profusely the continued delay in orders being dispatched and in turn received. Since our last update of this nature (on 21st December) significant progress has been made by the distribution centre in getting orders shipped. And as of the the latest update received a short time ago today (Friday 4th January) we're happy to confirm that barring a some exceptions which we'll note below, ALL ORDERS HAVE BEEN SHIPPED!

This is going to be a long message once again, but there are still some things we want to highlight and we want make sure we cover as many bases as possible to give you as clear a picture as possible on where things stand.


What's happened since the last update?
As we alluded to it above, significant progress had been when it comes to orders being dispatched. Thousands of orders were dispatched between 21st-24th December, and then from 27th December onwards leading to the final (literally) thousands of orders being dispatched very, very late last night (Thursday 3rd January.)


Where do things currently stand?
As we mentioned, as of very, very late last night the final remaining thousands of orders (barring some exceptions - more on that to follow) have been dispatched.

It's likely going to take at least a good day or two for the couriers to be able to get all of these sorted for delivery, but they are definitely on their way!

Now I mentioned there are some exceptions to things that have been shipped. Here's what they are -

  • Cowboy Bebop Blu-ray

    We've been informed that new stock is currently being printed of this and as soon as it's delivered to the warehouse they'll be getting shipped accordingly. So if you ordered it as part of a bundle offer we had during the promotion or on its own and haven't received it, this is where things stand with that.


  • Orders for the Ltd. Collector's Edition sets of Snow White with the Red Hair, Assassination Classroom Seasons 1 & 2 and Escaflowne (TV Series+Movie)

    We are currently waiting for stock to be delivered of this to our warehouse and as soon as the stock has arrived they will be sent accordingly.

    We would like to add that with hindsight being 20:20, we fully appreciate we haven't communicated the status of order these specific products very well at all. Once again we can only apologise for that. But what we will add is that at this stage all orders for these products will be getting handled by our regular fulfillment house, rather than the distribution centre. So once they have been dispatched we will be able to notify you all with a shipping notification.

    As things currently stand, all going well it is our intention for most if not all of these orders to ship next week - and to note, these won't be shipped by courier, but by standard post - but we'll make further updates if necessary.



  • Pre-orders for Maquia and Pigtails

    We want to add a quick reminder that orders for both Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms and Pigtails and Other Shorts from Production I.G are both products that have not been released yet. So neither will be shipping until nearer their respective release dates.


What else is there to note? Are there any other updates to be aware of?
Yes! There a some more notes we want to take a moment to highlight; partly to give you as much visibility as we can given the state of play with everything as chances are one or more of the notes below may apply to you -

  • Responses to emails
    To say a lot of you have been emailing us over the entire festive period is an understatement - which we want to note we have zero qualms about given the circumstances - and we have been working tirelessly to answer them as quickly and efficiently as possible. It's entirely possible you're reading this before receiving a response to a message you have already sent us over the last few days, as an example.

    Please know we are intending to respond to every message we receive but this is a very timely process. We know this isn't ideal but we want to make sure we can provide the most accurate information to your query at the time of writing it. So if you are waiting on a response from us, we will be in touch as soon as possible. They haven't been forgotten about, we promise.

  • Shipping Notifications
    This brings us nicely onto the topic of dispatch/shipping notifications. A recurring theme we've noticed is people saying they've not been receiving dispatch notifications for orders. Again with hindsight being 20:20 we should have been clearer about this so we want to take an opportunity to clarify some details with this now.

    With our regular fulfillment house we are able to provide shipping notifications far effectively and efficiently based on information they provide to us at on the day orders are processed. But because of the processes of the distribution handling the 12 Days of Christmas orders, this was not something we could provide, but this fact didn't become know and apparent to us until very late in the process after orders had been fulfilled - partly because we were being provided with incorrect information leading to incorrect notification of shipping, as some customers may have encountered.

    But with that being said, now that all orders (again, barring the exceptions noted earlier) have been fulfilled we are working to update the order history of every order to appear as fulfilled.

    So unless you fall into the category of one of the exclusions noted earlier, your order has been dispatched. There are many thousands of orders we need to update which is also a very timely process. So if your order still reads as unfulfilled, don't worry it has been and the status of your order will be updated to reflect that as soon as possible.

    We will add you may end up receiving a shipping notification for certain orders of yours that you may have already received. If that's the case, that's just our system updating. We're aiming to have all orders updated by early-mid next week - again, it's a very timely process that has to all be done manually at this stage, so that timeline can vary.

    You can see the status of orders you've placed by using the order confirmation email you should have received when completing your order. If you didn't receive that for an order you placed, please respond to this message to let us know and we can get that resent to you.


  • Damaged / Missing / Duplicate Items
    It's entirely possible that one or more items you ordered were damaged in transit, missing or perhaps you even received a duplicate of a particular item. If you've already contacted us about this for something you ordered, don't worry you haven't been forgotten about. Your query has been logged we'll be in touch accordingly to update!

    If you haven't yet reported a damaged/missing/duplicate (or perhaps there's something else entirely that's occurred with an) item you ordered, please respond to this email and we can get it logged for you.


  • Incorrect/Missing item(s) in Partridge Picks bundle
    We know a large number of you have contacted us already about an incorrect product being included and/or there was a missing item in the Partridge Picks bundle. We'll be contacting you within the next week to update you on this - we're currently working out the logistics involved to get this rectified for you.


  • Missing item from Mystery Box #2 Team Marketing Version
    To everyone who ordered the Team Marketing Version of the Blu-ray Mystery Box, many of you have made us aware that an item was not included in this - you should have received 5 but only 4 were sent. Don't worry, the fifth item will definitely be getting sent to you as soon as possible.

    We'll be in touch with everyone who ordered this specific Mystery Box separately within the next week to update on this accordingly.


  • Did you order both Blu-ray Mystery Boxes in one transaction but have only received one so far?
    Just to clarify before going on, this only applies to people who ordered both Blu-ray Mystery Boxes in one order specifically.

    We'll be in touch with all of you within the next week but please know you haven't been forgotten about. We have heard from a lot of you in the last few days letting us know you still haven't received one of the boxes so we're working on getting this resolved as quickly as possible too!

  • Courier failed to deliver parcel / Courier lost parcel
    We know some of you have had, let's say a difficult time dealing with couriers attempting to deliver your parcels. We will be in touch with those of you waiting for a response to a message you sent us as soon as possible, we promise. We're currently speaking with the distribution centre to get their protocol clarified for situations like this. So once we've had confirmation on how they need this handled we'll be in touch!

    If you haven't already contacted us about an instance like this that applies to you, please respond to this message and let us know!

Can I still cancel my order at this stage?
Yes, and that option hasn't changed since our last email update. However now that all orders have shipped, our regular returns policy is now in effect.

So this will involve you needing to return the items to us - but don't worry, we can help cover shipping cost - in the condition they arrived and upon receipt we can cancel the transaction and refund the amount for you.

If you wish to cancel your order(s), please respond to this email and we can go through the return process with you in more detail.

Aye although for the Christmas deals IIRC it was all meant to be Sony DAOC.


I just had notification from mvm they've shipped my last normal order from their sale :) (IIRC from the 11th day), so only their mystery box to be shipped from them now :)
Once that's here I'll possibly post a list of what I bought last year, it's about 50 items, over half in the sales:p

I was just breaking down the box the ATA order arrived in yesterday, and realised it had two TNT shipping labels, one over the other, with the bottom one stating a collection date of the 3rd. So it looks like it was probably sat ready to go last Thursday but didn't get shipped until Saturday.

Erm a lot of it has been uncased and stored in sleeves in flight cases, certainly pretty much anything that wasn't in a fancy box/case up to a few years back::) (and things like Tenchi seroes ended up with everything in 2-4 way single width cases inside the tenchi universe box).

I've got no intention of buying from MVM's sale at the moment - my TV needs replacing in the next few months ;) (the OSD is dying and the set is 10 years old with thousands of hours of use).
 
Once the second ATA bundle arrives I'm debating doing a post in the "what I've bought thread" in GD, but I suspect there would be comments:p

All told the offers this year were pretty good (very good if i hadn't already got most of what was in several of the ATA known bundles), and I picked up far too much:p
 
Part of the second mystery bundle (marketting) has arrived along with another email saying the rest of the bundle will arrive separately

It's a title I've got on DVD and enjoyed many moons ago, so it'll be fun watching it again.
