The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Irina wound up just being OK in the end.

Idaten was really good but it sounds like season 2 is far, far away as I think they caught up with all of the source material.

Komi I decided to drop, the comedy stuff wasn't for me, the tropey side characters were kind of annoying, and the fact she isn't really getting help to solve her issues bugs me, they just keep playing off the same joke all the time. She needs 100 restraining orders not 100 friends.

With those 3 kind of done, starting Plastic Memories, may check out Vanitas, Ousama Ranking.

Watched the first episode of Ghost Stories dubbed (which I don't normally do) as I read that the english writers were given almost carte blanche on the script, and it was pretty funny.

I read that was some weird false rumour and it's not actually true.

I don't know why I listened to a YouTube comment and watched king of thorns. It was rubbish.

Never even heard of it!

I read the whole anime last month and some parts dragged and had a lackluster ending. Won't be in a rush to watch it, maybe when the season finishes.

This is one thing where I frequently hear the anime is better than the manga, even if you've read it, if you've never seen it, it's worth a try I think.

I haven't personally read the manga for it though.

Anyone watching ousama ranking?

I've been watching it lately, the art is a little meh at times, but it fits the themes of the show pretty well, and I'm liking it so far, it gets fairly dark. It's definitely a good watch :)

I am really sad we may not see a season 2 of Idaten for a while yet, that show was absolutely nuts, and I loved how crazy it got.

I read that was some weird false rumour and it's not actually true.

Ghost Stories was picked up for dubbing by ADV Studios in 2005. According to voice actor Greg Ayres, they were told to "do whatever it took to sell the show." The only condition was that the basic story and names of major characters and ghosts had to remain intact, but everything else was fair game. To that end, director Steven Foster reworked the show into a pure Gag Dub by throwing out nearly all of the original script. When the voice actors were called in to record scenes, whoever got there first would set the tone and subject for the scene, which meant the other cast members had to follow in those footsteps. This approach produced a dub full of random characterization, fourth-wall-breaking jokes, political and cultural references.

An alternative dub would later be produced by the anime television network Animax, which stayed true to the original, retaining all of the original Japanese plot, character and dialog details, broadcasting the series uncensored and unedited within its respective networks across the world, including Southeast Asia and the Indian Subcontinent.

Yea I thought it was lame but you're right that it matches the theme. I like how each episode is actually good and not wasted.

I couldn't even get past first few episodes, 1 billion percent guy was annoying as was screaming friend guy. Decided it just wasn't for me :p

I've started Fruits Basket which hasn't entirely gripped me yet, I'm only watching it some more as I've heard it gets better later.

Mob Psycho 100 is growing on me a bit, I dislike the art, and the comedy doesn't always hit, but after I got past epsiode 2 it's become a more interesting watch.

I'm also doing Plastic Memories but the storyline is not great, I heard it was sad but I struggle to sympathise with the main characters and the actions they take. Nothing will beat me up like Violet Evergarden and Clannad it seems.

It's definitely getting harder to find good shows to watch. New season of AOT kicked off and I've yet to watch ep 1 but have good hope for it. Demon Slayer was yet again amazing in the episode just gone.

Picked up Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru (My Dress-Up Darling) just 1 ep in but seems interesting so far. Art by Cloverworks is very good.

Got a bit of a clearout going on ATM, it's on eBay if anyone wants to go and look as its a bundle DVD/Bluray shows and series from mid 2010s or so, so some of it is out of print to my knowledge. I'm not going to list it or link it here as I don't want to fall foul of advertising, just more by way of a friendly headsup but my username is the same as here so I'm not hard to find haha; if any of you lot does happen to bid and win, please do drop me a message on eBay and will see if I can do anything for you :)

At the moment started on Trinity Blood, it's Gonzo so I expect some definate plot building and layering as this goes on; the first few episodes have felt more like world building/character familiarisation.
Also been watching Arcane on Netflix with the wife, a new episode every few days, and have to say the animation on that is absolutely fantastic. That may well be a purchase if they ever push it to BD/4K BD.

I've been watching Little Busters (picked up all 3 seasons for £13 from MVM in their sale), which I'm enjoying, I didn't realise it was a Key series at first but thought it felt familiar.
First season was a enjoyable but a little generic, the second season really kicked it up and i'm just starting the OVA/season 3 now.

I also just ordered Beyond the Boundary from Amazon as they'd got it for a tenner which is the cheapest I can remember seeing it.

Beyond the Boundary was a pretty fun watch, I've not seen Little Busters yet.

My copy of Kakegurui CE arrived including the playing cards :)

I've started a couple of new seasonal things, one is of course AOT Season 4 part 2. The other is "My Dress-up Darling" which shows a lot of promise. It's not really a spoiler here as I've only seen ep1, but it seems it's a romcom about a guy who has a weird hobby of making Hina dolls as part of a family business, and a girl who wants to Cosplay but can't make costumes.

So far episode 1 was good, and I look forward to seeing how it develops.

Edit - episode 2 also good, recommend this one if you don't mind a bit of ecchi. It's best described so far as wholesome-ecchi if that's a thing.

Not been well recently but just finished Trinity Blood. It wasnt perfect but there was enough individuality and ideas in there to keep me watching, although it definately suffered from anime adaption syndrome; too much to try and cram in to tell the whole story, or even a major portion, but at the same time padding to fill out the episodes it didn't need and a very wishy washy ending.

Still could have been worse. Would rate it 7/10.

Think next in my clear out watch is going to be X. Correction: it's Noein

Got tickets booked for Belle in just overp a week's time so looking forwards to that.
