The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Not yet, I need to get past the aesthetics, it's not the style that i usually watch.

This was my reaction to it initially, but after hearing so many good things about it i decided to give it a watch and its suprisingly good and the characters/story are really well done and not what you expect

Hype!!!! Spice and wolf just announced for a 3rd season after 13 years, brilliant anime!

@Alexrose1uk see you are a fan so you would prob be hyped for this too :D

Its coming back baby!

A fan is probably a bit of an understatement; I have one of the signed limited edition collectors novel editions, and also the original japanese Season 2 Ep Zero DVD/book, and the artbook, and multiple versions of the western releases...aaaaand. Yeah, needless to say this is probably one of the closest series to my heart, full stop. :D

Funny you say this, my brother messaged me this afternoon about this; it's one of the things I was just about to look up! And yes, MEGA hyped...but so many questions I've not answered yet; like if the voice actors are the same, if they'll stay faithful to the original story/intent etc, will it be a reboot; or a continuation, or a remake which will cover the entire story???! Dammit! Need more info!!

I REALLY hope the original voice actors come back!!

13 years and it is finally happening!! :D

are you the reddit user u/holofan4life ? lol

I just saw the Spice and Wolf news and i'm a lot happier wolfy now than I was a few minutes ago:p
I've been waiting/hoping for more for ages, and I was just saying to one of my friends a couple of nights ago about it when IIRC Nichiju got a second season announced.

Really enjoying My Dress Up Darling more than I thought I would. I think i am a weeb afterall, a degenerate weeb.

I'm quite enjoying it, it's different to most of the other anime i've been watching and always fun to see anime about people's hobbies etc :) (one of the reasons I loved Genshiken).

So...more news about the new S&W pls... DONT LEAVE US HANGING JAPAN!!! :D

(And Genshiken was great fun Werewolf, I still remember the scene where the guy explains the difference between what a guy and a gal sees from drawing a few simple lines lmao)

I probably need to rewatch Genshiken again sometime, as I loved it:) I reread the manga a few months back and I do wish they'd done another season of the anime to finish it. I loved the whole Kibiji Unbalanced (I think i've got that right) thing where they created the manga/anime for the characters to reference as part of the story, then actually did it for real:) (and it even got licenced and released in the west!*)
Because I haven't seen s2 yet I'm going back through one-punch man.

Love it. It never gets old to me.
I need to watch that some time, one of my gaming friends is a massive fan of it, but somehow I never quite manage to get it to the front of the queue.

*From memory there was one of the OVA's for it as an extra on one of the Genshiken sets, then a Genshiken OVA on the Unbalance set so to get everything you had to buy all three boz sets :)

Just back from the cinema watched Jujutsu Kaisen 0. Absolutely brilliant. Animation was top notch and the story wasn't too bad either. Well worth it on the big screen if you follow the series.

Not as fussed on JJK as a lot of people are, but I'd still watch the movie when it came along elsewhere I think.

Finished Ranking of Kings, and about to finish Dress Up Darling. I think both have been very good this season.

New season has a few interesting shows coming up, most excited for new Shield Hero and Kaguya Sama, but there are definitely a few others I have my eye on (Spy x Family and Shikimori).

Currently watching Fire Force which is not great, not terrible. It falls into a lot of shonen tropes and the pacing is a bit erratic, but it's had some good bits and the fire abilities and animation quality can be really good when they kick into gear. Also watching Sonny Boy which I'm liking, it's not really the kind of thing you binge, but it's a very interesting watch.

I've been watching a bit of a variety of stuff recently, just finished My Senpai is Annoying which I really enjoyed, especially as the "slice of life" with the slowly developing relationships between the various characters (both friendships and budding romance;)).

I finished Gate yesterday having picked it up in anime on line's Christmas sale (they're doing a blu ray clearance at the moment with about 20 titles for a fiver each), which in some ways felt like a typical Iseki type thing at tomes, but managed to throw out some red herrings and surprises, overall very enjoyable and fun to watch with a couple of bits I didn't really expect.

Currently just starting watching the Evangelion UE, which looks fantastic especially as I remember watching it on ropey avi's, then the original NTSC DVD's, it's cleaned up brilliantly and I'm seeing little details/text that I don't think was ever clear on the older releases. Unfortunately no Fly me to the moon for the end credits:(
I'm watching it with the "classic" dub at the moment, but will almost certainly go to the Sub on my next watch.

I couldn't get on with Gate really I mainly finished it as I'd started it! :p

It felt a bit too much like Japans attempt at colonialism part 2, and this is how we subjugate the natives (whilst appearing ridiculously overpowered and the natives are total idiots), import cat girls and magical girls etc.

I just could not take it seriously!

Agreed Eva still stands up really well with the remastering they've done to it.
