The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

No I don't think I quite hit the end of it, this was a long, long time ago though, over a decade.

I'll monitor for how good the current season appears to be, to see if it's worth going back through the old stuff, would have a bit of catching up to do.
I watched the first episode on Disney+ and found it really good, hit all the right notes for me. I also didn’t finish the Espada arc.

I would recommend you finish espada arc first. This new ark should be good but I've read the manga already, too many random convenient ass pulls powerups/recovery.

All shonen pretty much described! :D

I'll dig into it because I've not got anything pressing on my to watch list really at the moment.

I think I'm either up to episode 190 or somewhere around 267 based on the filler list https://www.animefillerlist.com/shows/bleach - but I am not sure, so I may need to check. There is a lot of filler so I'll skip that in any case, and I don't remember much from the Espada bits so most of it will be new to me anyway, but not intending to rewatch from the start again.

well for bleach i got up to the point where a town was isolated various soul reaper were doing battle in the isolate town and ichigo was off recusing Orihima. it before ichigo discovers his dad was/is a soul reaper.

I can remember so little about it now tbh. There are a few bits I remember better, and I vaguely recall the entire premise haha. Be interested to see if I can pinpoint what episode I got to roughly.

Edit - I'm guessing I'd be somewhere around episode 266/267 seen previously. It's about 62 episodes of non-filler to get up to date, that isn't terrible.

Anyone watched Bluelock? Football anime with a twist! It reminds me of Squid game with a footie theme. It does make me chuckle how it promotes the opposite of RL football teamplay.

Was on my list to consider checking out actually, I quite enjoyed Ao Ashi the football one from last two seasons. Not hugely into football but can enjoy anime about most subjects even if they're not typical interests, as long as they're done well.

Was also going to check out Do It Yourself which looked interesting, and there would probably be another 1-2 I'd try after a few episodes have come out and I can see what looks good.

My mates been banging on about Mob psycho over a year now. I didn't like the animation from the trailers but is it actually good?

Same the art looked a bit not for me.

I'm up to date with Mob Psycho 100, I watched it on a rec, and I thought the same as you guys, art looked rubbish. I still don't really like it that much but it does grow on you a bit.

For what it's worth, I will say that after a few episodes it does find it's stride and starts to get good, there is also a decent underpinning message being relayed in the content.

The comedy doesn't really land for me personally most of the time, but there were a few genuinely funny bits. I am not really into comedy in anime though, so the rest needs to be good enough to make up for it. Your mileage may vary with the comedy side of it.

On the subject of the art style, I will say that it lends itself really well to the dynamic action sequences that come up occasionally. The art comes alive in a way that you can't necessarily get with clean lines and bright colours, and these are the main reason I carried on watching it, because when they kick into gear they are really good. Kind of reminds me of Ping Pong for the matches if anyone has seen it?

@kakarott I don't tend to make lots of back and forth recs with friends for anime, because I find people aren't usually that willing to try stuff out, and I know I'm not that into being tied to watching stuff other people rec that much, but if your friend often watches shows you rec and you rarely do the opposite, it could be a good idea to try it out so they know you care! :)

It's currently scheduled for 12 episodes, which takes us up to the end of this year.

I am not sure if more will follow it or not.

There are two things in Bleach I'd forgotten about, but going back to it reminded me, one is the 4 minute episode recap/OP you get at the start of each episode, and two is the over-explanations in fights, they're having full on side conversations and pausing to talk every 5 seconds

It's definitely a refreshing change when anime takes the show, don't tell approach, which is more common lately I think.

hehe yeh i get that but it has been like ten years or something so a recap was probably needed :)

Ah sorry, I meant for me I am watching from episode 266 onwards. There is a recap segment at the start of every single episode.

I'd certainly understand them adding one at the new episode, as you say it's been a while. I haven't seen the latest series I'll be catching up first which will probably take me a week or two.

not really a recap but feels like their refreshing my memory a bit while awesome new stuff is going down :)

edit: just seen ep 2 wow that was straight down to buisness and so many familiar faces, i should stop watching it and wait a few weeks to get a few eps in the row going but its that good i cannot help myself, im itching for the next ep lol

the new bleach is set to be 4 cour's (or 4 season) with each cour/season consisting of episode count between 10-14 episodes.

I see there's a new gundam anime? Watched first 10 mins and lost interest. Anyone watched it?

Yes was hoping for a whole new timeline and arc themse story but instead we got another.

Gundam build Fighter clone at school :(

Which gundam is worth watching?
I would stay away from the main arc as its ancient and not worth watching imo. But if you havent watch Gundam before.

Gundam 0083 (side story of the main arc, will give you a feel what Gundam is and the universe itself) Added both openings because they are classic. 2nd opening was the only one i could find without any spoilers

Gundam Seed (is very good storywise but its quite long winded, again its own universe and doesnt tie into the main series) and it leads to below. *** personal favourite :) ***

Gundam Seed Destiny - again very good imo.

Gundam 00 (Its own entirely different Universe, doesnt link to main series and doesnt require to know anything)
