The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

I wouldn't say the selection of shows that are available to the UK is poor on there ... yes we miss out on some series, which is a pain, but there is still a lot of series on there which are accessible. Looking at the Winter '12 listings, for example, I think there's only ~4 shows out of over 20 which you can't watch for region reasons. Admittedly that includes AnoNatsu which is a bit of a bummer but there is still plenty of stuff to watch there ...

Watched the first four episodes of Moretsu Pirates earlier ... quite liking it so far, sci-fi with plenty of energy and not relying on mecha is normally good for my preferences and this has a bit of a Girl Who Leapt Through Space energy level vibe which I'm liking ...

Also watched the latest AnoNatsu which was nice, if in a more understated way ...

It's improved, but the vast majority of it holds no interest for me. Mind you, the US offering isn't always much better.

Another reason why you linked up Moretsu Pirates and Girl Who Leapt Through Space is that they both use the same band for the opening song, ALI Project. The Moretsu Pirates opening is certainly one of the better ones this season.

Ano Natsu was bad actually, not sure whether it is growing on me now it has gotten into the full plot.

'Another' keeps getting better and better as the story moves along too, looking forward to the next one!

nope, haven't actually listened to the OP at all for this (I normally skip over them if I'm watching multiple episodes).

I wouldn't have said it was bad at all.

Was just taking a wander round looking at some sales and remembered they've started releasing Ef- on BD in the states. Completely forgot that was due or I'd have ordered it already, and I think I'm a bit too skint now following a few of the other things I've grabbed :(

Someone remind me at the end of the month to make a PlanetAxel/AmazonUS order so I dont forget next Payday :D

I'm awaiting my copy at the moment :) ... it was one of the first series I imported JP LE DVD's for ...

I'm still waiting for UP to actually get stock in which is unheard of since they normally get stock in 1-2 weeks before release (I might switch my order to planetaxel if they haven't gotten any by next Tuesday).

Tell me about it ... they have been **** slow for a lot of releases recently. It used to be that they'd start sending things out within a few days of TRSI starting sending (taking them as normally one of the first) but recently there's been a very long wait after things are reported shipping elsewhere before UP actually start ...

I've probably got ~4 things with them which are already shipping elsewhere at the moment, all of which were ordered within a couple of hours of them adding them to their system so I shouldn't be to far down their list of orders ...

edit: actually it's even worse than that as i see another couple of things were both reported as shipping on 17/01 and they don't even appear to have been reported as "new" releases yet on the UP system ...

Well Snedit's shipping speed is certainly nothing to write home about, but all the Hellsing Ultimate DVDs are now on the way at least :)

I have had the battle Royale Manga and the Claymore manga recommended to me, are these easy to read? I have bought some manga in the past, Escaflowne springs to mind, and it took me ages to get used to the order you read the frames and pages. OK you read the book back to front, but then the page frames themselves are top right to bottom left iirc?

I wouldn't necessarily bother with the Claymore manga.
I honestly think the anime did a good job at adapting it to the screen, and ended it at a decent position. The manga has been drawn out in its current state/arc for way too long, and I'd probably hold off recommending reading until the story begins to pick up pace again.

They have gone a bit downhill of late in regards of getting stock of new releases in (although I was surprised when the B gata H kei set went into processing 2 weeks before release) although the one thing that has gotten my back up about them as of late is their sudden mindset that 2 disc DVD sets in a standard DVD case require a 50% increase in postage charges even though it weighs less then two single DVD's (it's happened to me twice but I gave up on the second one since I knew I'd get the "it's the weight" tripe I got when I had to call up about getting the wrong item in a shipment) but I shouldn't complain since I estimated that I only got charged 50p in postage charges for the world god only knows blu-ray set.

Finished watching Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai this evening. Overall it was a reasonably good series about a club of people who want to make friends ... unfortunately they all seem to have many, many issues :) The characters weren't bad and their design was very much like that used in Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko, particularly the girl's faces.

Some amusing subtle, and not so subtle, references to other series here and there, (e.g. A Certain Magical Index, OreImo). The plot was ... ok, it could have been better and the twist was pretty obvious to the viewer from the beginning. It just felt at times that they could have done more with what they had and that some jokes were over used at the expense of new material.

Overall it was reasonably good but it isn't going to be anywhere near a top ten or anything like that ...

Other than that I've been watching the latest High School DxD episode (good although I may be biased by liking the main female character) and Gundam Seed Destiny (oh dearie, dearie me ...)

I enjoyed that series, though it was the characters that did it for me, the story itself wasn't anything special. I loved the arguments between Maria and Kobato, always made me chuckle. :p Think I'd want to watch it again though so I must have enjoyed it enough for that.
