The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Cheers, I'm not overly bothered as IIRC I got my copy in December and didn't notice anything.

I was looking at the MVM offers for today and if I didn't already have the steelbook of Samurai Champloo and blu-ray of Beserk* I would have bought them as they're both good series :)

Today I've been a good boy and not bought anything :p D

*Seeing the offer reminded me that I wasn't sure where my copies were, cue about 2 hours of tidying up various really useful boxes looking for it - it turned out I'd put one of my smaller ones under my desk in the wrong trolley (so it was with model parts). I've been taking pics of the boxes so I can do a quick check in future.

I received my ATA mystery box through and it's quite a good one:)

3 titles I was interested in, one that I was sort of interested in and one that I'll watch because I'll give anything a go once when it comes to anime* and some of my favourite titles have been ones that I initially didn't think I'd like much.

Attack on titan season 2 Roar of awakening (film) collectors edition. - I'm more into the series (which I still need to buy) but the completionist in me is happy to get the film.
Kokkoku Collectors edition - Almost bought this last time it was cheapish.
Silver Spoon season 1 collectors edition - missed out on this in the pre-order phase and offer earlier in the year, but decided I wanted it after watching it on Screen Anime (it's one of the ones that I had doubts about but really enjoyed after watching a few episodes).
Welcome to the ballroom collectors edition
Kings Games collectors edition - Wanted to get this for a while.

*Well almost anything, I've tried to give DBZ a go a couple of times but by god I can't stand it.:p

I overslept this morning, but got a mystery box from mvm at about 10:30 :)
They're usually good, and I've got some quite large gaps in my MVM releases, partly because MVM seem to release a fair bit more than ATA :p (and do more rereleases of older DVD titles that i've got onto blu-ray).

WW do you prefer dubbed or subbed Animes? I personally prefer original language with subs. I tend to find the Japanese voice actors much better than the American counterparts.
I watch both depending on how I'm feeling.
If I'm tired/feeling under the weather then a reasonable dub is preferable over the sub because I can relax a bit more/don't have to concentrate as much, and some dubs I've always preferred to the Japanese track (also if I'm doing something else at the same time).

With regards to older dubs it's more a matter of nostalgia, and liking to see how things have changed over the decades.

Hopefully my set will ship tomorrow or Wednesday:)

My Sword Art Online Alicization part 2 arrived this morning which is nice, i'm probably going to give that a go after I finish Kampfer (one of last year's MVM mystery box titles), which is fun, silly but fun - although at times I'm having to pause it repeatedly due to the number of both spoken word subs, and info subs (it's a little like Excel Saga in that regard).

I've also been listening to some anime music at the computer for the first time in ages, I've been re-organising my music collection so that modern players can make sense of it (music brainz picard is great, once you realise how it works :p*), so I've got Plex playing in a browser tab rather than my old go to of Media Player, and I like the plex interface with all the thumbnails :D

*The first time I tried it I just threw an entire subdirectory at it and it got a little confused (things like the Eva music, or the Bubblegum Crisis where there are the main discs, then the "best of" and "vocal" versions sometimes with duplicated songs), then I got confused and didn't realise you could select which version of a disc the music was on. Fortunately I was working from a copy of my music rather than the original folder.

I received my MVM mystery bundle a few minutes ago, as usually with MVM there are a couple of titles I've been interested in but not yet got.

Dai Shogun
Devils and realist
The Familiar of Zero season 1 (I've already got this, IIRC from their 2018 summer box).
Land of the Lustrous
Vatican miracle examiner (I've already got this one)
It's a good bundle I think, but unlucky in that I've got two of them.

just got a notice saying that "Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory: Blu-ray + Audio Dramas Collector's Edition" is on it way.
Awesome, although my order of it probably won't ship for a while as I placed it on day 12.

I've been watching Anonymous Noise on Screen anime and enjoying it (I missed that they'd put it out on blu-ray), the character designs remind me a lot of the original Fruits Basket (and something else, FMA?), but none of the key staff look like they worked on it.

Finished Anonymous Noise which was very enjoyable, and received my day 2 order from ATA (which has taken 6 days in the post for a 48 hour delivery).

I'm a bit of a fan of their new (temporary?) fulfilment companies method of packing the items, lots of blubblewrap and if more than a couple of bits put them in a large box with air bags :)
I'm hanging onto the boxes as I'm going to try and redecorate my hobby room in the new year, and they're a good size for holding a bunch of blu-rays :p (and as I'm out of proper storage for them in here at the moment, very handy).

Next up is probably going to be Sword Art Online Alicization, as I got part two of that through the other day, either that or possibly The Devil is a Part Timer which has been sat on the side since MVM did a Manga UK sale.

FMP:IV arrive in the post today, their a bit of weight to it.
Same here, the postman knocked about 45 minutes ago with it:)

As you say, a bit of a weight to it :) I think ATA's collectors editions are consistently the heaviest releases in my collection (anime or otherwise), as they're almost always a heavy card box with a booklet at the minimum.

I received shipping confirmation for my biggest single item from the ATA sale last night, according to Fed-ex it should arrive Monday.

You're consuming anime at about the rate I used to :D

These days I'm struggling to manage an hour a night on average :(

Dragon maid is fun, and I was glad to see they've announced a second season (due 2021 I think), Girls Last Tour is good, Assassination Classroom is very good.

I'm going to try for Sword Art Alicization tonight, as I've not managed any anime for a few days, then move on to FMP Invisible Victory.
I think come the new year I'm going to make a list of all the anime blu-rays I've not managed to watch, and go through it, as I realised that I've got some bits from about 2-3 years ago that I've yet to manage, mainly sub only titles that arrived when I didn't have the time/energy/concentration to watch subs.

well nice surprise today as "Weathering With You - 4K UHD+Blu-ray Deluxe Edition Variant Ver. (AllTheAnime.com Exclusive)" arrive in the post, didn't even know it was on it way as i haven't received any email notification about it being dispatched.
Hopefully that means the Zavvi one will ship soon(ish)
Heard mixed things about Great Pretender, enjoying it?

My anime buying spree stands as follows so far :)

Will probably see what's up in Jan sales if they exist, see what else I can get.

Give it 6 to 12 months and you'll probably stop adding it up, if just to sop yourself seeing how much you've spent ;)

I do something similar with my anime orders., except I only record the price I've paid rather than from multiple retailers, I also note when it was ordered, shipped and received, as that helped me keep track of potentially missing/late items back when I was ordering from the US on a regular basis.

I received a slightly cryptic "your order has shipped" email* from MVM earlier, when I checked it turns out my copy of "is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon" season 2 collectors edition has shipped:)

I started Alicization last night which is looking good, at some point I really need to pick up the first series on blu-ray as I watched that on streaming, but did buy season 2 and the movie on disc.

*MVM's shipping emails unfortunately give the order reference, but not the actual order contents.

I had what I assume is "Is it wrong..." season 2 arrive this morning, along with the biggest part (literally) of my ATA sale purchases after a few days of it being stuck with fed-ex.
I'm sort of wondering if I may have made a mistake ordering it, as it's much bigger than I'd expected*, and I'm short on room :p (I'll try and post a picture tomorrow).

*It's the biggest anime set I've ordered in size, by some margin.

Apologies for the quality of the pictures, they were taken in a hurry.
My ATA sale/Xmas releases so far.

The big set is in the box, under the 6 blu-rays...

Hopefully the pictures will show, but you may need to click the links (there is something going on with chrome not showing "insecure" images so I need to work out how to get a cert for my site at some point).

[edit]
Finally got round to looking into it, and adding an ssl cert to my website only took ten minutes so my pics work!

Yup, it's the Bebop UE that ATA did, I've been lusting after it since they announced they were doing it, but couldn't justify £300, at £130 with a 15% discount I could just about justify it as a christmas present to myself ;) (I was still just about within my Christmas sale anime budget).

Re the photo's I've pretty much always used my own hosting space as it means stuff is there until I remove it, I've seen so many image hosts either go under, change the urls or do things like remove the pictures after a change in how long they'll store them.
It's been playing up on here since chrome decided everything had to be https, and i'd been putting off sorting it out expecting it to be a faff, but my hosting service had a one button "get an ssl cert free" thing:)

It's "normal" length for the time, but as you say expensive, in part I suspect due to the rights:) (I remember wanting the original US DVD box, which sold out back in the early 2000's and didn't cost much less!).
One of the reasons I wanted it was the OST's, and another was the artbook :)

I suspect I'm going to use the space inside it for storing the various anime goodies I've got in another box.
