The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Started DandaDan last night now it's finished and s2 has been announced, went in blind and not what I expected at all but enjoying it for the most part. Art style is impressive so far.

Same thought it was good too. Very original and had a unique style and theme.

I can't wait for the anime Sacamoto days.

Well all of Bluelock budget went in the last 2 episodes and it paid off.
What a cracking finale, can't wait for the Ego league now.
Wow was an amazing finale. Did notice a slight dip in the character art but it was pretty dramatic. Can't wait for Phase 2.

Yeah I'm glad I stuck with watching S2 all the way through. As people were complaining about the poor animation quality or none at all.
I hope they don't pull some bull crap where they try and turn the whole u20 match into a movie + work on S3 at the same time.
S3 deserves time, no cutting corners and not overworking their animators.

As I have developed an interest in Gundam kits, I thought I would get around to watching the anime.

I watched the 3 movie cut of the original series on Netflix and enjoyed them but definitely feel like I missed some character interplay, as some of the reactions were a bit 'WTF triggered that?'.

Origin was interesting as it gave a bit more of a foundation to the universe.

Gundam Z felt like it needed much more back story as to how things had got to that stage but also felt it dragged the story it had with 52 ish episodes. Also they love a bit slapping in this.

Started ZZ but not sure about it yet.

You got the jist of the original at least, even though they have done filler gaps between original to Zeta I don't think it fully gone into detail how the Titans came into power after the war.
I haven't watched ZZ yet but people say it does get better after the first 10-20 episodes or something.

If you haven't watched them already.

Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory series. Gives you a good slice of what's going on without going to all the main arc back story.

Gundam Seed - is an alternative reality to the main story but one of the fan favourites including myself.

@kurosagi01 @Kyo Thanks for the info, it is the rise of the Titans that peeks my interest.

I will stick with ZZ and see if 0083 is on Crunchyroll.
For sure the Titans uprising, Cha I mean Quattro switching "side" and forming AEUG would be cool as well.
The return of Neo-Zeon with Haman Karn gaining power as well.
As far as I am aware, most of that was only covered in Manga? Whether they are canon or not I'm not sure.

Might want to not reveal too much if he not seen it before. Plus the old stuff is kinda hard to watch especially ZZ imo. Chars counter attack is ok but the older animes very disjointed. Hence why i suggested easing him in with side stories which is better imo. Gundam Origins does a good job because its updated art plus condenses a lot of Char's backstory.

0083 is perfect imo because it mimics a lot of story relationships and dynamics like Amuro and Char.

@dcsarge - one of my all time favourite classic intros. Not bad when there no CG and its all hand art.

Oh, forgot I did watch Origins because of Char's backstory. I enjoyed that. I will just plow through ZZ and then try some of the side stories. At least I can skip the god awful intro.

Didn't reveal too much since Haman and Quattro(Char) were introduced in Zeta which he said he has seen Zeta. :)
Just saying Zeta didn't really explain how AEUG was formed in the first place, the same as Haman coming into "power" to bring back Zeon after the war.

Look forward to the later show/movies like Char's counterattack, Unicorn and Hathaway.

@kurosagi01 I can see why that is your favourite, massive difference with Z/ZZ and lovely artwork.
Ironically Zeta is my favourite Gundam series still, but the newer stuff like Unicorn and Hathaway combines all the things we all love from UC era but with lovely artwork and modern animation work.
Also got to give credits to Sawano for the clean soundtrack.

Finished DandaDan and it's in my number 2 spot for 2024 behind Bleach. Loved every moment of it, hopefully don't have to wait too long for s2.
