The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Oh no, whilst there may be nudity at the same times in both it's definitely quite a bit more servicey in the manga than the anime, (I'd forgotten this when I came to read it for the second time and suddenly re-found it whilst on the tram one morning).

I was more referring to how it's shown since you do see most of the other characters fully nude in the anime, but with Chika you don't.

Its not so much overall fanservice thats annoyed me, just that one particular episode so Im hoping it's a one off, I'm referring to the supposedly American girl (Tina) constantly groping people; just gets annoying and unnecessary.

That's just her way of saying hello (or so they say), and it does crop up every once in a while after episode 5.

Searching through the UK iTunes store for anime songs really does take some work, some of the stuff on there is really well hidden. Although, I see LISA is on there with the opening to Fate/Zero. It's a shame the Angel Beats stuff isn't on threre though :(.

I really do prefer digital distribution than going through the hassle and expense of importing. A shame you can't access the Japanaese store without some hassle.

I prefer the hard copy media personally (preferably with bonus items :))

Finished watching Last Exile: Fam the Silver Wing this evening. Ok if you compare it against the original then it's nowhere near as good but on its own it's a reasonable series with sky piracy, flying warfare, and general destruction. It's not without its flaws, there are times where the plot jumps a bit without being obvious how they got from A to B. Fairly pointless cameo at the end though.

Overall I liked the series, visually it looked quite good and it was an interesting series to watch.

You can always buy music at AmiAmi or on J-List if you must buy it but you have to be quick since it all sells out, but there are other sites if you don't want to wait. o.O

Just finished Lovely Complex, the last episode and the last 5 minutes was the funniest thing I seen for ages, replayed it so many times, really enjoyed the story.

Need to find something new to start, but am currently watching about 20 or 30 shows which am happy processing through while some are stalled. :p

Also installed some new VN's last night, might start playing School Days HQ.

For music I'd go with CDJapan or PlayAsia normally, yes it's better to pre-order in order to get the LE if not avoid something going unavailable. JList don't appear to list audio CDs.

I haven't played the School Days game but I did enjoy the anime (I have the Japanese LEs)

Mixed bag of things watched in the last few days ... on top of staying current with various things there was ...

Shining Hearts - Shiawase no Pan ... ok I know that this is based on a game but even so it was pretty poor. You had several cute characters, which was nice, but the light fantasy plot was pretty (read very) weak and you got no real view of the big picture. I can't say that it was truely bad ... it was just very meh.

K-ON! The Movie ... Now I like both seasons of K-On! ... I've even got a pile of imported CDs from it. The movie though .... was really really good. As is generally known from the advertising (so no spoiler) the girls go on a trip to London for their graduation, (the film sits just before the end of the second TV series but it's probably best to have seen the series before the film). You get the usual chaos that Yui and co seem to produce any time they do anything and at times it is laugh out loud funny ... but the film manages to not get to absurd so you are left thinking that yes, this is what would probably happen with them in the circumstances. There are several musical performances which are good and the end of the film retells the end of the second series from a slightly different perspective (nothing is changed it's just centred around a different plot element).

Overall I really enjoyed the film and think it fits well with what had come before. It had quite a few little details in the film which they could have not bothered with which made it a really good film for me instead of just a good one.

I must get K-on some time, I've had it in my basket at Amazon for ages but keep putting it off as I've got other stuff to watch :p

I'm currently watching Strawberry Panic which is enjoyable (I bought it on a whim, as it was suggested at amazon.com when I went to buy children of dune, so for $10 I risked it).
I've got Baka and Test up next, probably followed by Panty & Stocking (pre-ordered).

Finished watching the K-ON film which i quite enjoyed tbh. K-On is just light hearted silly funny when you get right down to it, and i think the film does that well.

- I'm glad that they actually bothered to get native english speakers for the english parts. So many shows just don't bother, and it sounds silly because of it.

- Yui really is stupid, but in a funny way.

- I'm not a Londoner but i was picking out all of the sights as well when they appeared :p. Nice background art.

- LOL those eye masks on the plane.

I really want to see the University manga to be animated now. Which tbh, is inevitable.

I agree with Andarial ... how on earth is Strawberry Panic suggested when you are buying Children of Dune (although in fairness I do own the former and am currently rereading the latter).

I don't really know anything about the follow on University manga (other than it's existence) but I'd happily have more K-ON.

With the film, I do like how they used real things real things both in London and before; I recognised some of the images of Narita as well as London and JL401 is the correct flight number for the JAL daily flight from there to Heathrow (with JL402 being the return flight which is an evening take-off) ... they're the flights I've taken before (and will be in October).

:D How on earth did they link those two together:D

I think it's because I've tended to order anime/look at prices for anime from Amazon.com

I tend to find amazon pretty amusing in some of it's recommendations, things like showing a load of 360 stuff because I once bought a game for my nephew or because someone bought that game AND something else I've ordered ;)

Changing topic slightly.
Totoro and Fireflies Blu's in November!!!!!!!!

Watched the first season of Natsume's Book of Friends at the weekend. It's quite a nice series about a boy who can see spirits and has a book of their names which he has inherited from his grandmother. It's quite a light supernatural series and some of the stories are quite sad. I quite enjoyed it and will be interest to see what happens in the rest of the series ...

Various new episodes were quite good, (Sword Art Online in particular had quite a sweet episode 3), and I see that there has been an announcement that there will be some more AKB0048 anime next year following on from the current series.

I'm quite liking Sword Art Online so far. The pace is a bit different to the light novels in terms of the chronology. Volume 1 of the novels dealt with the main story while Volume 2 has all of the short stories, it looks like they're weaving the two in chronologically for the anime.

I quite liked the third episode, it's a very tragic story and sets the tone for the series nicely. The ending :(.

Other stuff, Rinne no Lagrange which is still light hearted and entertaining at the same time, the latest episode was quite amusing (poor Madoka).

Kokoro Connect is turning out to be a nice surprise tbh. It's nice and easy to watch and the most recent episode took things in a bit of a darker direction. I think this could turn out beter than what people might have been thinking.

I've kind of lost interest in Hyouka now. it's still nice and pretty to look at but it just seems to be meandering all over the place. I still don't know what it's trying to be. Is it trying to be a slice of life series, a mystery show or both? I'll keep watching it but it's kind of gone downhill in my expectations.

K-On is totally awesome, a true all time classic, please don't watch it in Dub.

Strawberry Panic is good too, really enjoyed that series, an other good series like it is Maria Sama, but the TV series isn't as true to the Manga, less Yuri but it has 4 seasons! Fell in love with that Anime as I did with A R I A

Baka to Test is the funniest thing you can ever watch, the second season was the best.

Can't comment on Panty & Stocking, didn't like that artwork, looked kiddest. :s

Why in the Machine God's name is A R I A censored? It's a title of an anime, not a swear word???

A__a is censored as it is also the name of an competitor rather than a swear word.

The Maria-sama manga isn't the base lines the anime should be compared too ... rather it should be compared to the original light novel series (all 30-odd volumes of it). There isn't really not that much real "yuri" in it, more just close friendships.
