The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Watched the A Letter to Momo film this afternoon. I found it to be a good film with an engaging, if fairly laid back story ... it's not about lots of fighting and/or giant robots, it's a just a nice, slightly supernatural, story set in a fairly contemporary Japan. The film is fairly sad at times due to some of the subject matter but it was a nice watch.

Baccano is pretty great, although it requires you pay a lot of attention to get the timeline right ;)
I watched it after my brother sent me a clip of the two goofs on the train realising they'd forgotten to get anything for the young girl (sorry I'm forgetting names).

Never could get into Baccano really ... I should give it another chance at some point.

I enjoyed the first season of Bakuman ... it would have been even better if Media Blasters hadn't made a right balls up of the US release ... we'll have to see what happens now ...

Finished strike witches the movie....AWESOME loved every minute of it .
Not what I was expecting, somehow I got the idea that it was set between the series 1+2:confused:.it also implied there are more to come at the end?(or was it the usual`to be continued`?)
Not really Animé per Se but watched Ronal the Barbaren:D******* Hilarious Conan on steroids foul juvenile humour throughout. I loved it/just don`t watch it with the kids;)

Well they do say that the 501st is reformed at the end and they are going off to go into action

Anyone know if the Anime Legends DVD collections are any good? Desperately want to watch Code Geass again and no one seems to have the complete volumes in stock (was going to buy them from Amazon but they're missing the first volume of the first season). I see now that the second season's UK release has been cancelled but that the US has it (or so righstuf would have me believe) so just wanted to make sure they aren't tacky collections or anything before I import them.

IIRC most of the anime legends collections are basically the same discs as the original releases in a multi pack case (IE a 4-8 disk case with flip over trays).
You don't get the nice covers that you do for the individual releases, but they are a lot cheaper and take up much less room.

The movie is after season 2.

How can you be confused by this? :/

As Werewolf says they are normally just the same disks as the original release. The US did get a release of Code Geass season 2 .... I have the release on one of my shelves. Note that this, including the Anime Legends release, was put out by Bandai hence needs to be considered as out of print following their withdrawal from the US market so, unless you want to pin your hopes on a license rescue (which is probably quite likely for Code Geass), I'd pick it up sooner rather than later.

A bit harsh seeing as he meant that was his impression prior to watching it.

edit:

Re-watched Tamayura Hitose yesterday. A lovely gentle little series about a group of girls, the main character of which is into photography. This is an extremely slow and laid-back series, similar in feel to a certain undine related series. Really nice watch but don't expect any action at all.

Many thanks for the info Werewolf and Andi :) I'll definitely be importing them from the US then, could always get the UK release at a later date if the license is rescued. Better to be safe than sorry I guess :p

Im over halfway through Death Note, so far its amazing. I just ordered another anime (ive got the bug now:D) called Moribito. It sounds really good and so far with my luck i havent picked a rubbish anime yet:)
