The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Ouch, the second Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha movie has been listed in Japan for a release at the end of March ... at £85 for the special edition BD release (plus shipping and probably Customs etc) :(

Does have English subs though ...

That's a fairly pricey release compared to UK/US ones (although having said that, I did get the two Patlabor movie SE's, the Gunbuster SE and the Wings of Honamease BD/DVD set), which weren't that much cheaper.

I've been watching Ah! My Buddha, which was silly but fun to watch (no need to engage brain much), I think my favourite character in it was possibly Demon kun ;)

Now I'm just waiting on the postie to bring me Code Geas.

pecnarf, I really need/want to get the Black Lagoon Blu's, but can't justify the cost at the moment given I've got the DVD's already (I'm waiting for them to drop under £20).

If you have a multi region player there was someone on fleabay selling the US release of Black Lagoon Series 1 and 2 combined for about £33!

£29 + postage from UP ... I'd personally go with them over some unknown eBay seller.

lol you guys buying media and their bad subs. :p

Nothing major wrong with the subtitles for the first Nanoha movie, and nothing wrong with buying media and thus supporting the industry.

I liked the two series of Ah! My Buddha ... good fun series :D

Ah My Buddha was awesome, one of first Animes I watched a long time, still love it and the OP/ED is great.

Got this a while ago, she was Preowned from AmiAmi and was missing her lower dress, wasn't much of a lost due to the price! :p

Excellent, cheers! Think I'll wait until payday and order a few bits off there :)

I would point out that whilst UP are my preferred supplier they are not the cheapest source for most things (especially UK releases).

I tend to use them as they ship the US releases to themselves and then out to you so no Customs worries, as the package to you is coming from Kent, and after the first order they are happy to ship to a non-credit card address (so I get things sent to the office instead of home). For me it's worth paying a bit more for the convenience.

Cheers, I'm trying to avoid getting a MR blu-ray player as it would invariably encourage me to spend more...and I already spend too much on anime and Blu-rays :p

Aye, I didn't really know much about it before watching, except that it look fun :p

Ironwarrior, that's a nice figure :)

Finished SAO, the second half was better then some let on here, or maybe i just had my expectations rejusted because of the comments. I thought it finished fine TBH

Don't know what it was about the second half, but it rubbed me the wrong way and left me with an "empty" feeling at the end. It wasn't bad, I just think I was expecting more with the quality of the first half :p

Edit: Got my copy of Code Geass Season 1 on Blu-ray today, can't wait to start watching it again!

I've been thinking about getting a MR Blu-ray, almost bought an Oppo a few weeks ago, but decided i need to spend the money on housey things. I know boring, but needs must.

Then to cap it off i see that Patlabor OAV's are being released on Blu-ray, and i seem to be buying more US disc's that come with DVD and Blu's.

Must resist!

*hugs his two Panasonic multi-region BD players*

:)

Got the rest of the week off after today, got some other things to watch in the mornings but should be able to catch up on some anime in the afternoons :)

OOh, I hadn't heard about the Patlabor OVA's on blu, that's tempting, as I love Patlabor (the movies were some of the first anime I saw, and I've got everything on DVD).
But I must resist the urge to go MR for Blu, as I want to upgrade my PC in a couple of months, and it'll be the first big upgrade* I've done in about 4 years :p

I got my copy of Code Geass through this morning, so I'll probably be watching some of that this evening :)

*I'm thinking I7 with something like 32gb of ram.

32 GB of ram:eek:
Seems a tad excessive :D
Would definitely go stand alone BR multi player over a pc BR drive, too much hassle for the pc option(I know from my experience having a BR pc player when i first got into BR discs)

I don't even try to watch movies with the BD drive in my laptop ... it's too much hassle and drive is quite noisy. Tends to just be used for ripping BDs to be encoded loaded into my media infrastructure.

Could do with an i7 though as the PC I use for encoding does it like a 3 legged zombie dog ....
