Well over the last couple of days I've watched the following ...

Someday's Dreamers Season 2 Complete Collection ... lovely little series about a girl coming to Tokyo from Hokkaido for a course which qualifies her to be a mage. It is a really nice bittersweet series which uses an interesting animation style with the backgrounds frequently being pictures of actual places, (which was nice when they went to places like Enoshima as I could say I've been there). The characters are nice and the story isn't complicated but draws you in.

This is the second series but the only real link to the first series is the concept of the plot, (the first series is generally the same with different characters within the same concept).

The other series I've watched is Un-Go Complete Collection ... really good, slightly odd, detective series which has interesting plots and characters. I wouldn't say that it drew me in as much as the other series but it was a good watch.

I wish Berserk would end in the next few years.
I read them all a few years back and absolutely loved it, even though it was completely mental, however I want to re-read them all but I'd rather wait so I can read the entire story in one go.

well black lagoon 1 & 2 blu rays came in the post today and only had to pay £2.98 as i got a £50 amazon voucher for xmas. :)

Just a heads up that there are a couple of bits and bobs in the HMV blue cross sale (25% off) - not massive discounts but not bad.

For example Angel Beats (blu-ray) for £22.50 and Freedom Collectors Edition (blu-ray) for £10.50.

Spent this afternoon watching Ground Control to PsychoElectric Girl (aka Denpa Onna to Seishun Otoko) on NISA's BD release. It's a reasonable, if odd at times, series which is a mixture of comedy and strangeness.

Being a NISA release it comes with a nice hardback book which gives details on the characters and episodes. it is all housed in one of their odd sized boxes which has some of the best box art that I have seen in quite some time.

watching evangelion 1.11 tonight, picked them up at hmv today, 5/8 quid for 1.11/2.22 plus 25% off too
appleseed dvd £3 and 25% off too!

[edit]

anyone wanna tell me what I just watched?
feels like I'm missing something.

Evangelion 1.11 and 2.22 are the first two films in the series of cinematic remakes of the classic 90's anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion. There will be four films in all with the.third having hit theatres in Japan at the end of November 2012. The fourth film was due to be released this year but has been pushed back. We'll probably see a western release of the third film in 2014 is my guess.

The original series was reasonable for the most part but does get strange near the end. I also find, in my opinion, that it is one of those classic series that can be overrated by some people. The films are diverging from the original story as they go on so it will be interesting to see what the third and fourth films bring.

Woah! Started watching Durarara and it turns out it's quite dark! From what I've read on this thread I kinda thought it was a comedy but instead it's like a David Lynch thing! :p Good stuff!

Right guys, Heres the deal,

I have seen, Bleach, Death Note, Code Geass.

What next, I was at the edge of my seat with all three, something samurai like bleach might be an idea.

Any ideas? Should I try naruto or one piece? Anything better?

If you liked bleach, chances are you'll like naruto too. Its rather huge though. :p
I like one piece, but it does show its age a little now. Try it out a bit before you commit, again its huge. I think its a series thats better to just read.

Bakuman is the latest work from the mangaka that did death note, its very different but very enjoyable still.
Also, your education isn't really complete without a bit of dragonball, or Full metal alchemist.

Samurai Champloo - a slightly more adult Samurai series
Well you say adult but really it's by far the funniest samurai series out there! :) The characters play up to their stereotypes hilariously and it's full of tongue-in-cheek anachronistic references to modern stuff. I mean it's got a proper plot and some pretty sad and emotional scenes but on balance I'd call it a comedy. With stabbings.
