The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

On a completely different note, I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else yet, but it looks like the delayed Grave of the Fireflies blu-ray release is probably due in May (I got an order update through earlier for it).

Also Kiki as well looks like it's an end of May release. Also From Up On Poppy Hill looks like it _may_ get a cinema release in July.

oooh no, not kiki as well, May's already being expensive:p

I was looking for information on Up on Poppy Hill a few days ago and wondering when we'd see signs of it :)

I haven't seen the series but .hack and all the other versions of it are SAO like. Then there is Btooom which is about a group of real people who get taken and dumped on a island to play a real life version of the game they play online and finally there is Accel World which has is like a big MMO, Accel World would be the best out of the three.

Accel World is actually set a few decades after SAO, althrough it's not related. Accel World's main girl has a really racey butterfly dress, in one epsiode she turns her back and you realise the dress is backless all the way down to her ass :D:o

Watched the second half of Bodacious Space Pirates on Sentai's BD release today. Good sci-fi anime with nice comedy and characters and a coherent story which does have a conclusion but leaves things open if they want to produce more in the future.

Nice to have it all out on BD fairly quickly.

Just finished ` Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki`
nice visuals,i liked the story too, easy ,comfortable watch but a little sad overall
Re Kiki, there is a `new` BD?? with multiple audio+subs on the net ;)

I made a small contribution content wise to it too :D

been taking a break from my anime and now I've got win 8 x64 installed anime that played fine with the shark codec on win 7 don't play on win 8, they keep randomly crashing wmp. Would like to be able to use x64 codecs due to media center etc. So seeing as some of you likely have more experience with mkv animes than most I thought I'd ask here first :)

What's everyone using for the codec pack as this random 'crashing' will get on my nerves :(

I can see the obvious difference in sharks codec is lack of haali and ffdshow in the control panel and the new 'focus' on using lav splitter which I never really liked on win 7 but if this is what other people are using can you stick up your settings please :)

I tend to use CCCP normally for a codec pack over Shark personally ... although I tend to put everything into Plex now and not use one.

Watched Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki earlier ... I agree with Andarial that it looks good and is an easy watch but I felt the story was a bit of a let down over all ... it just seemed to be missing something for me.

Enjoyed the latest AKB0048 and Chihayafuru though ... :)

x64 lav splitter is the problem....

Went and tried the win 7 codecs so I could get the haali splitter to use for the mkv splitter and it works fine, still can't make use of my gpu with x64 like I can on x86 but its working again...

That lav splitter has never worked well for me while the lav codec works fine in cpu mode, how they can't make arguably the most important part of lav splitter work properly when a rarely supported haali does is beyond me lol. In this day and age x64 should really be a main focus for ALL programs on the desktop os...

I'm now waiting on mediabrowser 3... win 8 'metro' styled update, with a vlc backend, to mediabrowser 1 and 2 which I have used and like more than plex... although it would make more sense for me to use plex since my tv has the option to run it lol

Works for me flawlessly on WMP/MPC in Win7, x64 on several machines, although I don't have Win8 to test.

It could be because you're installing it via Shark's if you uninstalled that, reset directshow codecs to default, then install LAV standalone directly from it's own site using its own installer and configuration tools, does it work then?

Shark used to work fine on win 7 and to be honest I'm not even sure why it's crashing on win 8 and not win 7, nothing apart from the os has changed, even the settings that used to work on win7 are now crashing intermittently on win8... seriously why couldn't ms include mkv support out of the box in win8 and you just got to love the quirks of a new os...

I'll try lav on it's own in the morning...

it doesn't exactly help when the same video can work fine and then a couple of minutes later it will crash almost as soon as it loads... all in the space of 2 mins

CCCP I have always used.new revision out now too.can't say if it will work on w8,as I don't like or use it........well not yet anyway

Well I watched Gundam Unicorn Volume 6 at the weekend, quite good lots of story and character development, but little in the way of "new" action and was disappointing is was still under an hour considering the long 9 month wait this time round. From what I know from the novel they changed the nature of Full Frontals plan as well.

In the novel I’m sure its a new colony laser to kill eveyone on earth but his plan in the OVA is a economic pack with just the sides blocking the earth out which couldn’t then substance itself ? Which is more spice and wolf then gundam.

I hopeing the last one will end it on a bang and will be longer.

Just a dam shame I started to read the manga and the first couple of pages give away what La+’s box is. The OVA works so much better no knowing 

My second Asuna-chan from Sword Art Online shirt arrived today, no custom charges. :D

Best shirt yet.

Where did you buy these shirts from? They look amazing :D

http://www.amiami.com/ then Character Goods but you can also buy them at Hobby Link Japan.

The link for the shirt above is here, but it's currently out of stock, but they do re-issue them each month, I believe it's on it's second print run. Print runs can go as large as 8+ times.

http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=CGD2-51456 or here http://www.hlj.com/product/CSP50744

There are many other versions, for example like this one here: http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=CGD2-51375

Full graphic shirts normally cost just under £50, I think this one cost me £48 all together, but sometimes you can get stung by custom charges which adds about £15-18 to the price, but it doesn't happen that often.

If you order then remember that Japan sizes are always smaller then ours. I normally wear L in the UK, but I need XL in Japan.

I see, thanks :) will have a look at both then (and hopefully remember to order a larger size). Have been looking into getting some shirts for a while now but the places I tend to find or have recommended to me look a bit "meh" for the price you pay, and look like somebody just figured out how to print pictures on shirts from Google Image results. I really do love the look of these shirts though (especially the Asuna ones) so think it might be time to bite the bullet and get them while I can :p
