The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Hmmm ... If Mirai Nikki is like Deathnote it might explain why I didn't think too much of it, although I've only seen the first couple of episodes so far.

Currently at the parents and am not going to be in a position watch things at the normal level until the week after next at the moment, (although I do hope to finish a couple of things on Wednesday). Currently been watching random episodes from Crunchyroll :)

Fair enough :)

Gotta say I've been really loving the visual attention to detail and lighting with Kara no Kyoukai. Whilst it's not the best looking show I've seen, it does look spectacular at times in some ways, to a level I've not seen in much else. I have to applaud the team that made them for that.

oooo back here again lol

I got Noein for christmas from my little sister, started watching it last night and well, quietly suprised, i didn't research it, or anything, just saw a flashy cover whilst browsing amazon a few weeks ago and bang 'wishlist' haha

Ho at the moment ( 2 episodes in)( thats Honest Opinion) ( not what you thought! dirty sods :p )
does seem like a nice little anime at the moment, it's a little confusing with those supposed 'ghosts' hunting a 'dragon torque' and some of the scenes dialogue just adds to the confusion, but i hope it will all come together closer to the end, Voice cast ( english wise) seems to be fantastic thus far <3 Richard Epcar<3 ( for those unintiated he voiced Batou throughout Ghost in the shell and is one of my favourite voice actors )

Good to know, I had it recommended to me as well, and thus I ordered it in my Christmas purchase. Glad to hear its not seeming to be a bad purchase so far!

Yep, I looked through a list a few days ago, and there's at least 3/4 definate watches once the season is finished. :)

Nisemonogatari and Zero no Tsukaima being the obvious ones :)

My other possibles are:
Amagami SS+
High School D+D (the premise sounded amusing)
Ano Natsu de Matteru
Another (reminds me of Higurashi blended with a few other series)
Papa no Iu Koto wo Kikinasai! (sounded vaguely heartwarming
Inu x Boku SS (saw the trailer for this a while back, plus I really like supernatural so....)

Noein is one strange series with a very unique take on character designs. I thought it got quite dark in places tbh. Confusing at times but well worth a watch.

I really didn't like Noein, not helped by the mishandling of the original UK release. The animation style was grating for me and I wasn't keen on the characters or plot.

Hmmm ... Lots of new things I'd like to look at ... I'll have to post my choices later when I get on a PC ...

edit:

Right, looking at the page I'd say ...

Probables:
Amagami SS+ plus
Mouretsu Pirates
Ano Natsu de Matteru
High School DxD
Another
Zero no Tsukaima F
Rinne no Lagrange
Recorder to Randoseru
Papa no Iu Koto wo Kikinasai!
Kill Me Baby
Senki Zesshou Symphogear
Nisemonogatari
Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou
Black★Rock Shooter

Possibles:
Natsume Yuujin-chou Shi
Tantei Opera Milky Holmes 2nd Act
Area no Kishi
Aquarion EVOL
Inu x Boku SS

Of course of these probably 20% will be dropped fairly quickly and of the rest I'll maybe follow only a couple regularly. Of the OVAs and movies I'm not sure on the ToHeart Dungeon ones ... I have all the ToHeart releases up to now but this is significantly different so I may well skip them.

The top three probables are he ones most likely to be followed regularly. It will also depend on how many of the current series are actually 2+ cours so will be continuing on.

Ooo I was waiting for their preview list to become available! I haven't watch any trailers so far but my list so far of ones I will be watching is:

Papa no Iu Koto o Kikinasai!
Another
Inuboku Secret Service
Amagami SS+
Ano Natsu de Matteru
Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou
Area no Kishi

ok guys, advice please.
I'm looking at getting the akira serise of books, but should I go for the 2001 Dark Horse or the 2009/10 Random House ones? or are they much the same?
also any reccomendations for some mangas - so far liked
Bleach
Naruto
Death Note
Akira

I know this might sound odd, given the overall fanservice fest the series was, but aptly timed, the Rosario and Vampire manga (S1 then S2 - it changed publication) is actually a reasonably solid read.

I don't read many, but its one of the few I continue to read.

Watching Rosario + Vampire s2, the OP is well for those that havent seen it yet.

Im in love with em all. :)

Looks a bit freaky because it's very obvious it's been rota-scoped and they didn't bother to hide it, the dance number in the first season of haruhi suzumiya was done much better

Made it onto Puella. Only 2 episodes in but you can definitely see the shaft influence in the visuals as it's extremely surreal and stylised at points, and is definitely reminiscent of Bakemonogatari in its use of lighting and shadows at times.

I'm slowly making my way through Arakawa under the Bridge, mainly because I don't have the concentration to read the subs by the time I get the chance :(
It took me a couple of episodes to get into it, but I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

Next up is probably going to be School Rumble (I've got Utena set 3, but as that's definitely a sub watch I'm holding off that for a bit).

My love Hina omnibus volume 2 arrived this morning (I AM going to have to clear my manga backlog*), and Amazon have Volume 4 up for pre-order for £7

*For some reason I can read a normal book in a few days, but I've got Manga volumes that have been on the shelf for over a year (CCS, Eureka 7 etc)

I liked the Love Hina manga, (I have the individual volumes so am not bothering with the omnibuses). My manga back log isn't to bad at the moment, my normal book and DVD/BD backlog has taken a leapt though (e.g. Spice and Wolf ... I've only read the first novel (I think) with the rest on a shelf). The DVD and BD backlog is likely to only get worse with several things due when UP starts shipping out again next week. My Japanese teacher really liked borrowing the CCS omnibuses and is eagerly awaiting the next volume :)

Got home today to find that the second half of Dennou Coil had been delivered while I was away, (not bad .. was sent from Australia on the 20th normal airmail and must have come last Friday or Saturday).

Whatever it is i like how the animations, seemed very rich in detail and fluid with the arm movements and the close up with the faces. Wish more anime had that kinda detail and fluidness.

so wait
the Omnibus editions include 3 of the manga books? ie 1 is 1,2 and 3 then 2 is 4, 5 and 6?
may have to get that if so, GF has books 1-6 but the rest went out of print before we could get em!

I finished watching heavens lost property yesterday and I was left slightly unimpressed as some parts of some of the episodes looked more like a train wreck whilst some had some humour and at least one made up for most of the wreckage (the "X-change" in episode 11) and only severe convincing will get me to consider getting forte when it comes up for pre-order.
