I think this is the main problem with all religions.

The basis of each one is 'We are right and our religion is the best, everyone else is bad and wrong'.

Except they get very creative indeed with all the words they use for 'bad and wrong'.

If society really wants people of different cultures and faiths to get along, the best solution is to ban faith based education.

Most were like that, but in modern times that way of thinking has died off.

Nice try. If we try to say what it says from any legitimate source, you would then complain about it being out of context or hate speech and start trying to get people in trouble. Not interested.

We'll I've actually read quite a bit of it...

For hardcore fans only TBH.

It's not even that old as religions go. You can see a lot was "borrowed" from elsewhere (yes I've read some of the other books too). I'm not saying it's evil or anything. But from a neutral perspective it is what it is.

Calling out Hamas as the problem is not a simultaneous statement that Israel is blameless.

Israel have had to deal with constant threats of 'being blown off the world map' and such from much of the rest of the Middle East, even if any fault lies with them, they have more than enough valid reasons to justify 'acts of self defense'.

One can simply search all the kids shows promoting Jihadism to 3 year olds from all over the Islamic world to see what threat they pose to Israel.

Do you think the UK would be happy to just sit back and take it if all of Europe was openly plotting and conspiring to destroy them?

The same people that were making such threats are now playing victim over retaliation, surprise surprise, 100% typical, yet everyone still falls for it.

the post i quoted reads.....hamas is the problem here, not israel ......so you're trying to tell me that statement isn't absolving israel of any blame?!

no one in their right mights is saying israel can't or shouldn't defend itself, i know i certainly haven't. but i wonder, how is illegally evicting people and bulldozing their homes defending oneself?

no, not everyone 'falls for it'......but no one wants to see children blown up or shot now do they? no one wants to see civilians blown up or shot irrespective of what some may presume those civilians think of Jewish people.

again, no one is asking israel to sit back and take it. they are well within their rights to defend themselves, but surely that defence has to be proportional?

i'll ask you this, 25 odd years ago when the IRA were trying to blow lots of British things up, would you have thought it reasonable with the British government OK'ing missile strikes on West Belfast? After all, certain areas would have been IRA strongholds and many of the people living there, while not necessarily in full support of the IRA, would certainly have been happy to see all the British driven from the north or ireland. would that have been justification enough to bomb a civilian population?
