The Apprentice - Series 8

Even You're Fired is failing into nonsense boredom.

Even the show afterwards has achieved boring status. The contestants are a waste of space and the tasks are all a bit silly. Sugar and his crew look like they are going through the motions. I think stale describes the state of Apprentice today. The show needs to be taken off the air for a year to give everyone a breathing space.

I don't think it needs to be taken off air, I just think it needs a new creative director and to go back to picking contestants for the show rather than business ideas.

It shows that he is more interested in the business than the person who is submitting it generally.

From a business perspective, this would make sense. At the end of the day, if the idea is fantastic, they can employ the winner to implement the business plan/idea. If they are a disaster (and this won't take more than a couple of weeks to realise), they can bring in members of staff to assist him/her in the implementation of the idea.

Oh I agree, it makes sense from a business perspective. But this is a TV program supposedly to find "The Apprentice". It is no longer about an apprentice, or a person at all.

I think that its more about finding a good business idea and then implementing it.
Perhaps they should rename the show, "The Business".

They've made no secret about the fact that the format changed and it's not to find an actual 'Apprentice' last year or this year.

I know, but now it's not the apprentice and should be changed to fit what it actually is tbh. The tasks are largely irrelevant to the purpose of who will be employed.

There was something posted a while ago of who has been hired and how long they were there. Most don't stay for long. I think one of the women had 2 kids while still working for him then left

Why he no longer offers a job, they don't stick around. Plus in the past not just the winner got a job.

They were generally given **** jobs, so why would they stay? I think the first year was funded by the BBC, after that Sugar had to pay them and generally they knew it was time to get out.

I never knew this.

So basically, as long as someone else is paying their wages, he is happy to have them. Then once he has to pay, he doesn't want them.

That sucks.

Sorry if this comes as a shock, but he doesn't care less about any of the candidates, it's all about publicity for him and the very few businesses he has left.

This is obvious when you start to look at some of his tweets; none are about how he's found some inspiring young talent that he is excited about working with - it's all about how fantastic he is.
