hi all, my pc is randomly rebooting so i mdoing some checks. i need to install motherboard monitor but in the setup, which model of asrock do i choose. i hope this aint a daft question !!

MBM has not got the board listed, your best bet is to try either speed fan or the system tool app someone posted earlier in this thread, in fact go for the latter as it shows you the CPU, CASE etc Speedfan rerquires you to sign up to a site and download other stuff.

No it doesn't.

Speedfan is the simpler of the two to use in my opinion too. Nothing wrong with Systool though.

*Speedfan has the ability to alter the fan speeds on many motherboards. At this time the Asrock 939 Dual-Sata isn't supported. It may be in the future.*

Sys Tool

Was on 1.2 and could get to 275 before hitting a brick wall. Updated to 1.5 and still the same. Will be trying the beta's over the weekend. Want to get to 290ish before I will give up.
Opty 146 at 275
Opty 165 at 275
Both stable but unable to even go to 276. Using 133 divider and 600 HTT.

The 1.5 has exactly the same limit built into it.
Try one of the beta bios from here(beta1 or beta2):- http://www.ocworkbench.com/2005/asrock/bios/betabios.htm

*The beta3 has the limit in it too*

The 1.20 bios has the HTT lock and won't boot properly at and around 274Mhz. In my tests it's also unstable at speeds above 255Mhz.

So what are you currently running at and on what BIOS? I'm interested because the CPU can obviously do more than it is currently.

i just got a ocz booster for my mobo, but the LED display dosent work!
it flashes on and off when i boot my pc though.

any suggestions?

btw according to speedfan i have a -5v rail

hi, my mobo has a bios version of 1.20 and i havent overclocked anything

hmm, you could try uninstalling the video drivers making sure you re-install the asrock agp driver driver before your graphics card driver.

Have had my board sat here for almost a week whilst I wait for the CPU to turn up, should be here on Monday, I hope.

Just curious but has anyone had any issues with an ATI radeon 9800 Pro card on this board ??

ok thanx for your tips, last night, 5 mins after i go to bed, i lost my connection (maybe its not rebooting, but definately shutting off net, and closing flash fxp)

^^ I used to get that with outpost firewall, it would block comms with the DHCP server so I would lose connection every 24 hours.

I believe the W32 Time error is related to your system clock, trying to get information from the internet and not being able to.

Its nothing to worry about, but is there because of Lan issues.
IE: not being able to connect to the internet.

Hi

Finally got one of these set up with the following hardware.

Opteron 146
1 Gb (2x512) Corsair XMS 3200
NEC DVD RW
Pioneer DVDRW
Samsung CD / DVD
Gigabyte Cooler
Audigy 2 ZS
Asus X800 XT PE AGP.

I'm using Bios v1.5 and can not seem to overclock past 240 fsb.
mem is set to 2.5, 3, 3, 7
MA timing Auto
CPU-NB & SB 600
PCI Freq 100 (Async)
10 x multiplier and 1.45V
Mem clock auto
Flexibility Option disabled
Burst length 4
DRAm voltage High

Everything else is at default.

What am I doing wrong, as I thought that I should be able to get at least 2700

Thanks in advance

Paul

I had a problem that I would suddenly loose my network connection; but everything was enabled.
Finally found that using the ULi integrated 2.1 driver for LAN seemed to be the culprit; changed to the LAN driver on the driver disk supplied and all is well.

NB to use my 6800 the ULi integrated AGP driver must be used; the one on the drivers disk causes problems.
