The ASUS Rampage V Extreme Thread

Posted this in the X99 thread as well. If anyone is having issues with the soundcard not working on your Asus board, put the PC into sleep / hibernation and then wake it up again, that should fix it -- Did for me! However it needs to be done on every cold boot until a proper fix is found.
 
Does anyone have an issue where the fans seem to run on turbo after resuming from sleep ? changing the fan profiles with the OC panel or the aisuite has no effect. The only way to reset it is to reboot the pc?

I'm running the 603 bios and use Windows 8.1
 
I bought one yesterday, spent ages building it today to find one the memory banks is not recognising memory. Tested memory so all fine, red bank 2 faulty. Annoying as its messy to pull it all apart again!

That's horrible bad luck, but how many of us think to bench test the board before building it all up etc. Must admit I do test mine sometimes before the build.

Damn! Feel for you.

I have to admit, a bit apprihensive about purchasing mine now. Sound cards not working, bios being corrupted and memory banks not being recognised...

All a bit depressing!:(
 
Im taking mine back tomorrow, I am undecided if I shall replace like for like or move to a different board. Frankly I bought it as it was the best but I am not sure I will go much better than SLI and little or no over clocking. Thoughts?

If you don't plan on overclocking at all, and are going to stick with 2 cards, then I think this board would be wasted on you, buy a cheaper board and save some money :)
 
To late, swapped for another, which works and I now have a new PC which I will faff with more at the weekend when I have more time.
