The ASUS Rampage V Extreme Thread

Just save them to a profile and then reload once you have flashed ?

Perhaps I should have tried that, but normally they are not transferable between bios editions, or at least that usually is the case, and you have to re enter all your settings.

Sorry Mark, I should have said saved to usb.... I have external drives plugged up and I just save mine to the root of one.

Yes I realised you meant usb ext, but I still believed when you try to load the said saved settings in the new bios it usually refuses to load it - will have to check for sure. Would save a lot of aggravation for next time. Thanks for your help buddy.

Been having a bit of a bizarre problem with 1103

Currently running a 5960x with 16GB G-Skill 3000 Mhz DDR 4 Ram

Reset the BIOS back to defaults, just apply the XMP presets (to get the ram up to 3000mhz)

When I do this I "lose" 4GB of RAM (e.g. the BIOS reports only 12GB installed), reloading optimal defaults goes back to 16GB

Has anyone else had this problem?

Your 3rd board - yikes, that does not bode well. What has happened to quality control at Asus???????

I have two dead Rampage IV Extremes here. I have been through 4 in total and the one in my rig still does not work properly. Surprise, Surprise, faulty PCI lanes.

I wont be returning to Asus, I can't wait to bin all my boards and I am not the only one who got burnt.

The Intel LAN on mine died - had been working for all of 2 weeks. Thankfully tested as faulty where I bought it from (not overclockers) so wasn't just be being stupid.

Took that as a sign that X99 isn't for me, so went back to my trusty Z97 build.

Have been watching the monoblock, it's an nice looking product. In reality though it's just for aesthetics and more heat dump into your loop without improving overclocking. If you want the look go for it otherwise I'd just stick to a normal cpu block that is also more versatile, my ek supreme hf has been used on 5 different sockets so far.

My loop is being drained tonight to put a gpu block in so will probably update then. NVMe support is nice, looking into getting an Intel out Samsung ssd when they are released.
