The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

A lot of people have had these with no problems, it's worth getting plus you'll have 14 days to change your mind if not happy

I'm starting to get the "screendoor" type artefacts in BF4 quite badly now and only had mine a few days - only happens with gsync + 144Hz @ ~40fps though any other scenario doesn't happen at all but I wasn't even getting that originally so I've a bad feeling its only a matter of time :S

Sounds like a similar problem. I have tried to take photos to demonstrate

ULMB ON

The effect can be seen above especially in the menu buttons where the underscore touches the text in the first image. I am hoping its something software based and not RMA
Yeah, still same issue. ULMB mode windows looks fine and in games its fine. Bit wary of going through any RMA process this side of christmas as it looks like it will take a while to sort out. But with others reporting the same issue I go ahead

Mister B that is what mine did. That is definitly RMA turf. I tried ULMB but the monitor was getting worse infront of me and even ULMBA was producing weird flickering.
What you want really is 2 of these monitors. One that is on RMA and one to use while waiting :)

Tried the inversion test earlier on the thread: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/inversion.php#invpattern

I dont know if its worse due to my problems but some look really bad with the web page affecting pixels outside of the browser window

As a fellow Rog swift owner this is all sounding a bit worrying.

BUT, I just tried the lagom test linked above and mine is absolutely fine. Cycled through all the test screens (1 to 7b) and had no flicker or anything odd on any of them.

**EDIT** - SCRATCH THAT! I get exactly the same after scrolling the page up and down on the larger tests lower down. Sone of them go green and the horizontal 'bands' extend outside the browser window each side.

****. Does this basically mean all Rog swifts are faulty????

EDIT 2 - Here's an odd thing. If I make the browser full screen by pressing F11 then the tests are fine, none turn green and all look ok, apart from the very last one which turns purple!

What is going on here. Is this all just a nonsense.

I wouldn't be worried. those test punish monitors and there is no such thing as a perfect monitor. If you do not see any artifacts under everyday use - you are ok?

Having said that my IPS panel at work here is fine. just flickering on 7a.

Hmmm. I am a bit worried now to be honest. Aren't you one of the ones sending one back? What probs did you have? Were they always there or only just started happening after a few weeks?

I have noticed the odd bit of artifacting in a few games at specific times. Hard to describe but it's like tiny 'cross hatching' or the screen door effect on lighter areas when moving. To be honest it rarely happens and is barely noticeable, but once you see it you start looking for it.

Apart from this my Swift is pretty much perfect, no dead pixels and very good on the backlight bleed front. And I absolutely love it for gaming so I want to hang on to it for definite.

My problem happened from one day to the next suddenly and stayed. Again in normal use if you are seeing no issues I would not be concerned.

Here are my issues I had with my monitor:

Thanks for the info bud. Very clear what problems you were having after looking at your thread with those photos.

Thankfully, *touch wood, cross fingers, kiss a toad?* I have none of those issues IN NORMAL USE - which is the key thing I guess. But, I will know what to look out for in case anything starts happening.

Hope you get your problem sorted, keep us updated in here :)

Mines utterly perfect in normal use but flashes green on tests 2a and b. I'm not entirely sure what the test's proving?

few more issues have arisen since last time i checked the thread i see, gotta say ocuk's handling of the rma's for both my swifts was exemplary (although i had both of them only a few days) . if any of you own the ethan carter game, fire it up and start a new game, when the fog is coming into the forest at the start it looked like there was a net around it on my monitors, it was that bad

hope these acer 4k's come in tomorow, gonna keep my 120hz for fast paced games and use that for everything else, being 60hz at least it won't have these inversion artifacts (hopefully)
