The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

I do. I have my dell 29 superwide ips to one side. This runs happily at 60hz, or even 75hz overclocked and has no impact at all on my Swift, which I run at 120hz 99% of the time.

My swift is connected via display port (obvioulsy, only option) and my dell via DVI, both to the same top card. I have an SLI set up but that makes no difference.

Your problem must be driver and/ or settings related, is all I can say, as it definitely works. Anyone else any ideas?

That's very similar to what I've been trying to setup. Do you have a minimum frame rate set in your BF4 config (Mine is set to 135fps, and I'm wondering if this is the issue.).

Edit: *sigh* I google "bf4 second screen with SWIFT" and the third link that pops up was my previous post in this thread.

Ah sorry mate, you mean this problem is just for BF4 when using a second screen for the map??? I thought you meant for everything.

I have tried that, and I settled on setting a max framerate of 85 ina CFg file too for more consistent framerate. And again everything worked as it should, so still not sure what the problem is. It might depend on what browser you use for BF4 and the map? I use chrome if that helps....

I use chrome too. I can't live without 120Hz+ in BF4 now, at my age it's the difference between being able to do well in a round or be laughed off the battlefield :o

I just want to be able to use my second screen for battlescreen and TS and still get at least 120 fps on the swift in BF4. Like I said, if I keep switching the resolution in the options, I can get 120 fps on the swift, but as soon as I ALT -ATB away and back again, it's stuck at 59 fps.

I'll just stick to the one monitor in BF for the moment. Cheers anyway. :)

Hey guys, had my ROG Swift for two weeks as of today, had no issues. I wasplaying battlefield 4 yesterday, after finishing and preparing to shutdown the computer, I noticed in 144Hz mode, my screen was flickering, the icons were juddery (with G'sync both off and on). I jumped back onto Battlefield 4 and noticed the screen flashing, I've been in 144hz since I've had the monitor and had and no issues until now, there seems to be issues regardless of what 'Hz' I'm in, the screen flashes mildly, text is flickering and any straight edge constantly judders.

I've got a GTX 980 and am on the latest driver 344.75, I've checked and reseated all of the cables, DisplayPort and power, is this is a known issue with the monitor? Has anyone experienced an issue like this?

Sounds like the start of something bad :( See other posts in here.

Must say I'm starting to worry about mine now, as it seems lots of people are having probs. Had mine 3 months now and *touch wood* no probs yet.

yeah thats worries me too, i was going to pull the trigger tomorrow but i am not sure now

I think I was the first one to post pics of the monitor here (launch +1) and mine is still going strong. Flickering I was getting before must have been a driver issue as I don't get it anymore.

I would definitely buy this monitor :)

It flickers becouse im trying to use a long cable, the standed one works, but i need a longer cable,
Ive try 3m one from no competitors. Blank screen
3m one from ebay, thats the flicker one. and fuzzy screen. Works for 10 mins or few hours.
another 2, 5 m from ebay, blank Screen Blank screen.

So how do we go about getting rog monitor a nice long cable. ?? Not liking displayport.
Need 5m cable, 3m minium.
5M cable works with 4k AX800. So this monitor dont like long cable's DAM.

4K 60Hz and 120+Hz at high resolutions pretty much tops out at 1.8m, 2m with a good cable tbh (anything beyond that is purely down to luck) only way you'd get beyond that with any reliability would be some kind of active repeater if they exist.

Thats not true, becouse from 980 to AX800 3840x2560 60 hz. Works with a
5M Displayport cable. im useing it now.

Hence my edit - from my experience its pretty much down to luck - only 1 out of 6-7 cables I tried with my 4K panel gave a reliable signal at over 3m and while there aren't hard and fast limits the standard is rated for 2m at maximum resolution/refresh rate combinations (any capability beyond that is down to the device or cable manufacturer).

EDIT: Or 3m with DP 1.3.

Remove the competitor name please.

Yes I pulled the trigger this afternoon. Was going to wait until the Acer one was out but as it uses the same panel I thought I may as well get the swift now and enjoy what it has to offer

I've been using a 5m displayport cable on the swift and a 4k monitor without issue. I also bought a 3m version of the same make of cable and it works fine too. I can let you know the make of it if you like.

Im thinking f sending this back has well, This is the first time i have a monitor, where you can only use 2m cable. all my monitors have always used 3m or 5m. Not good for my set up.

Been 3 months, tho. becouse thought this was driver problem.(not a Cable Problem) ASUS says go back toOCUK.

What to do ?. This problem and 980's problem. And ubisoft games. not been Fun. PS4 time lol.

720 30fps judder. EDIT omg i carnt lol
