The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Joe was that a new monitor or did you have a B grade one?

That monitor was a new one that I got back in August of last year, shortly after the ROG swift launched.

I have ordered B-grade stuff before though from OCUK and have always had a good experience. Most recently I bought at Gigabyte 780ti which runs very well, it doesn't overclock very well but it runs pretty strong at stock speeds.

I'm guessing some one returned it due to it not overclocking well but other than that, the card is faultless and came with 3 year manufacturer's warranty. At the time, I saved about £100 off the new price which was a steal.

More than satisfied with the card and enough to tide me over to the next die shrink of cards. The extra £100 I saved helped pay for the outrageous price of this ROG swift monitor ;).

(don't tell my wife, I told her what a good deal the card was...didn't tell her how not a good deal the monitor was!)

Hey guys will my 780ti run this monitor or will I have to upgrade my card as well.

Yes no problem that's what I run. I have found switching off AA helps up the framerates and its high enough resolution not to need it. 3gb is no problem either - I haven't come across issues (and I now monitor the vram use) on any game including Dying Light, FC4 and BF4.

Hope this helps

I agree about the AA settings, at this resolution on most games I can't notice much difference with it turned off but the boost in fps is very noticeable. For that reason, I have it set at 2x as a maximum.

As for 3gb vram, I can exceed that quite easily with recent titles.

I run this monitor on a Titan Black and it runs it great. Depending on game (Battlefield 4) I don't run at max setting to take advantage of the high refresh rate. Games are so smooth it's almost magical :D

Thats the best post here I think - I'm using 95, 95, 100 myself but close enough. IIRC using the gamma tweak (which IMO is pretty much needed) tends to knock the ICC/ICM settings out.

Glad people found my post useful :) :)

I actually did an updated guide, based on using a third party prog called 'color profile keeper' too. This is because settings don't 'stick' after exiting certain games and apps. This is much better, especially if you run multiple screens.......
