The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

I would buy one no problem, But the acer looks really nice too. Just worried about issues I've heard some people say they have had with the display failing and flickering etc after a few months

My monitor is still fumbling along. I don't think it's going to get worse. I can't send it back to ASUS in this state as I have heard they are incompetent with RMAs, but I am pretty damn tired of crawling under my damn desk twice a day so I may yet ask OCUK to deal with - at least I have a chance..

It's a 3 year on-site warranty, so you shouldn't be sending anything back.

Hi - I have been researching this monitor for the past few days and am finding it very hard to come to a decision on whether to take the plunge or not.

Its clear to me when it works its basically the best FPS monitor on the market (I play a lot of CS:GO).

However I have been reading the ASUS forums and it seems many people have had serious nightmares with multiple issues on multiple monitors + horrendous customer service.
Also having read the last posts on this thread - where do we stand on warranty with OCUK? I wouldn't want to go to ASUS direct if something did go wrong.

I have spoken to another retailer (biggest - take a guess) and they cover it themselves for two years with the last year taken care of by ASUS. But they told me the stock they have is from July (my research tells me a lot of issues from this batch?)

Does anyone know for sure how the OCUK warranty that is either on site or off site (who knows at this point?) covers you, and what batch are they currently retailing?

Thanks for your help.

Mike

Also one thing that a lot of people forget, G-Sync does not work in window or border less window mode either , only full screen.

So if you have a multiple monitor setup and like to game in a window and browse on the other, that aint going to happen with GSync Enabled.

But still a beast of a monitor :)

Not sure what to do, was going to go for the Benq but looking at videos of the ghosting on that screen its pretty bad. On the other hand this monitor is 100 quid dearer, seems to be hit and miss quality wise and only has one DP input. Argh.

You can have a game in full screen and a browser still open on a 2nd screen, but it does mean you have to alt-tab out of the game to browse, which some games dont like very much
