The Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q – a 27” 1400p 144Hz Monitor with G-SYNC

Arghh - Do I or Don't I can't decide. I have a Dell 27" ultra sharp 1440p but I want the faster response time and refresh. going to sleep on it and decide in the morning

Was hoping this would be no more than £600 really. I'm in no mega rush anyway, I really love my AG278HE, it's a cracking monitor. I can easily wait until the end of the year and see what happens :)

I been waiting for this monitor for months to be released.

But I am running two msi gtx 670 pe 2gb in sli will these two cards be ok to game at 1440p with good fps or will I have to upgrade to say 2 msi 780 in sli ect 3gb or even the new 6gb versions?

Will 2gb vram be a problem at 1440p?

Kyle

There are multiple issues here really, whilst the 2GB of RAM will be enough in some games, the 256bit memory bus will be causing issues which might get in the way of FPS. The GPUs themselves are plenty fast enough, but they've been gimped with 2GB of RAM AND thw 256bit memory bus.

So the games you're playing will determine the performance you get.

I presume there's an embargo on reviews at the moment, kind of wanting to see one before I decide whether to take the plunge or not

They wouldn't send them out for reviews to reviewers. Who's betting it was to do with the fact that they knew it'd get slated for its price and performance?

Massively cheaper to import it from the US, even with shipping and duties paid.

Absolute rip off.

OCUK price gouging is also pretty epic on this.

I don't think there's actually any samples available yet. I'm working to get one asap

I derped there, I thought this was the Titan Z thread, fortunately it is a little bit relevant to this thread as the price to performance ratio of this monitor is pretty poor :D

ok guys, lets stop all the price moaning now and talking about competitor pricing or whether you can or cannot buy it cheaper anywhere else. Let's stick to the forum rules to avoid this thread having to go please :)
