The Asus X99 Deluxe Owners Thread

pcie gen 3 making all games stutter I have to dial it to gen 2 in bios for things to work properly anyone experience this I only had this system 2 days :( I feel like sending it back as it cost me a fair amount and I am facing issues.

I'm just putting my build together now. Is the latest bios 1103 considered to be the best at the moment or would anyone still recommend a previous version?

Thanks

I'm on 1103 and the only problems i'm having are Windows sleep and USB related. My MX100 drive was disconnecting after the PC woke from sleep or randomly after sleep so I replaced it with a SK Hynix 256GB SSD and its stopped happening. I now use the MX100 SSD for my Xbox so it works ok.

Thanks for the responses jimbaw and Fredflint. It's been hard to get a sense of how 1103 is as even the description of fixes simply saying "system stability" is a bit vague compared to previous bios releases. From reading about there seems to be mixed reports about it....even your responses make me feel like it's more of a risk at the moment. I certainly couldn't afford to have drive problems with no alternative drive. The one change I am quite curious about and that there seems to be little comment from Asus about is the changes to power optimization and it upping the draw of systems. If this is a necessary change then it seems to be an important update but there's just not enough info about it to take the plunge. The mention of usb issues seems to have cropped up a few times as well. May go with 1004 for the time being.

Thanks for the response. :D

I have 6 drives and the only one that had issues was the mx100, don’t know why but I found a few threads on other forums about windows sleep mode and the mx100 disconnects so it is most likely an issue with the drive.
The USB problems seem to be that some combination of devices don’t play nice together in the same block of ports so I had to move things until the problems stopped.

Getting stuck on windows loader is normally cache instability

I tried playing around with the cache settings and nothing (even setting everything to stock) made any difference to my problem. So I did a bit more searching and came across somebody who had a similar problem who traced it back to USB devices. After much experimenting I have found that as long as my PS4 controller is not connected when the machine powers up it will boot normally 100% of the time.

Yea I'm as baffled as everyone else.

Hi all first build for many years need help on which PSU for this mb
X99 deluxe
Asus gtx970 *1
16gb ram 2400 cosair vengeance

2 old data HDS
Be quiet hard rock pro cooler
Haf x tower
5930k
May buy another GPU later in the year
Also looking to add the Samsung sm951 sad
Any advise would be well recieved

A 850 is what you're wanting.

At stock clocks even with the 2nd gpu, 140 (cpu), 145 (gpu) (145 2nd gpu)

Given you'll want overhead and the other components, you'll be fine to OC and still easily have headroom

My X99 Deluxe issues persist!

The latest one is the tale of the randomly disappearing memory stick. BIOS will only show 3 of 4 sticks on the front page, yet the SPD utility can see 4 sticks installed. I've had to bump System Agent/VCCSA voltage to 1.15 to get it (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-058-TG&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=2557) reliably working at stock.

I guess the 32GB of Avexir RAM I RMA'd earlier this week will not be found faulty...

X99-S Owner here. Well X99-S for now until it drives me to madness.
Getting horrible hardware based DPC Latency (Audio pops, video stutter etc..) easiest way to reproduce is to do QD 4K-32 Reads / Writes in CrystalDiskInfo.

Could you guys see if you also get this?

OK, I think I have the worst luck in the world with DDR4 RAM. I can confirm that I have another stick which is no longer detected by the system properly, no matter which slot it is placed in. The BIOS SPD utility can see it, CPU-Z can see it, but the system only sees 12GB out of 16.

I've tried resetting the BIOS to default, I've tried updating to the latest version, but this one stick just refuses to be detected correctly.

I'm about ready to chuck this X99 lark in.

Hmm.... Reseating the CPU in the socket seems to have brought everything back. Interestingly even though I had the machine disconnected from the power, the board detected that the CPU had changed when i powered it back up. I'm hoping that all my problems were down to something as simple as the CPU not being seated correctly (I only tightened the cooler to finger tightness this time, no screwdriver).

hello guys have the asus x99-s with 5820k in the mail could you guys suggest me a overclock guide for this board?

And im connecting my 6 corsair sp pwm threw a Phobya 8 x 4-Pin PWM Fan Splitter to what header on the mobo should I connect the fan splitter to have fanspeed control?
